NCES 2024112 Early Childhood Program Participation: 2023
This First Look report introduces new National Household Education Survey data that provides estimates for children in the United States from birth through the age of 5 who were not yet enrolled in kindergarten by 2023 on early childhood care and education arrangements. The report also presents data on parents� ratings of factors that affected their choice of child care arrangements, degree of difficulty finding care, reported reasons for difficulty finding the desired care arrangement, and on their participation in various learning activities at home with their children.

NCES 2024113 Parent and Family Involvement in Education: 2023
This First Look report introduces new National Household Education Survey (NHES) survey data that presents findings from the Parent and Family Involvement in Education Survey of the National Household Education Surveys Program of 2023 (PFI-NHES:2023). The Parent and Family Involvement in Education Survey collected data on students in kindergarten through 12th grade enrolled in public or private school, or homeschooled or taking virtual courses for these grades. The survey collected information about various aspects of parent involvement in education, such as family activities, parent involvement at school activities, and reasons for choosing the child�s school. For homeschooled students, the survey asked questions related to students� homeschooling experiences, the sources of the curriculum, and the reasons for homeschooling. And parents of students taking virtual courses were asked about such things as the fees for virtual courses, and their reasons for enrolling their child in virtual courses.

NCES 2024178 Documentation for the 2016-17 Principal Follow-up Survey
The 2016-17 Principal Follow-up Survey (PFS) collected attrition and retention data on public and private elementary and secondary school principals across the nation. The PFS is a longitudinal component of the National Teacher and Principal Survey (NTPS). The Documentation report provides information about all phases of the PFS, from survey questionnaire revisions to survey data collection and all phases of data processing.

The report presents data collected from students, teachers, principals, postsecondary institutions, and the general population from an array of sources, including NCES, BJS, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), among others.

In addition, these tables show employed U.S. adults� ages 16-74 skill levels (literacy, numeracy, and digital problem solving) overall and by industry and occupation. These tables use the data from the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC). PIAAC is a large-scale international study of working-age adults.

  • current expenditures by function and object;
  • revenues and current expenditures per pupil;
  • and revenues and expenditures from COVID-19 Federal Assistance Funds.
