Sony commits to a 10 year life cycle for their consoles. With PS4 now going on 12 years old, it's no surprise to see some of those jobs being cut.
Cause people that work on previous consoles can't possibly just work on what comes after?

From a corporation to change leadership then have to fire a bunch of people from the software side is kinda not looking good.
More than likely this is related to PlayStaiton taking over SNSystems from Sony, which has more than likely created some redundancies in the hardware UI deparment. Still we wish everyone the best and would have rather they got a different position within the company.
