Exciting and Excellent I loved these Series 1 & 2 so much that I'm embarrassed to tell anyone how many times I've watched them, over and over again, and am on pins and needles waiting for season 3, and glad to hear there's going to be a season 4. This is a beautiful history and love story. The story, scenery and acting is so great. Aidan Turner is too hot for words. I can say that and I'm 59 years old...imagine what the young girls think. He seems so happy in his interviews. All the cast gives wonderful interviews on You Tube. Eleanor Tomlinson is beautiful and a great actress. She's very believable and I love her character. Both Series are simply the best. I highly recommend it and give it 10 stars.
By the way, after reading some of the reviews on this site, I finally got around to watching the first Poldark series of the 1970s and in my opinion other than the similar story line, the acting doesn't compare. Especially, Demelza of 1970s doesn't compare to the beauty, fierce and strong one of today. The Judd Painter character of the 1970s is so dirty (not clean) and drunk that it's unbelievable. Both Ross characters are handsome and appropriate for the story, but Aidan Turner exceeds expectations with that wild hair (I love it), dark skin, and more reckless personality than the first one. I loved the character Dwight (Luke Norris), better in the newer version of Poldark, and the characters Caroline and Prudie are played much better in this newer version. The former Elizabeth was a very appropriate actor for that part, but I prefer the one today (Heida Reed). Overall, the writing, scenery, and especially quality of acting is much improved over the original series of 1970s.
By the way, I'd like to give a shout out to whomever posted Poldark 3 on You Tube. I was having a panic attack knowing season 3 started and I had no way to watch it here in the USA until October 2017 when it's scheduled to air here. I am totally hooked on this show in the worst way like I've never been with any other show, not even with Velvet and Grand Hotel. I am totally reliant on fans to put it on You Tube every week, and I watch each episode religiously. I also love the Poldark Dish series, which are so funny and have me cracking up each week. I can't wait to see series 3.3 next week. So thank you.
I have been forgetting to acknowledge Jack Farthing (George Warleggan) because of his ruthless character, but oh what a great actor he is too. He keeps this TV show exciting and interesting.
If anyone not in the UK wants to watch Season 3 live on your computer, or download it. Get VPN service for $60-80 per year or semi-annually. I use NordVPN, which is highly rated. Then I switch my IP address to the UK and go to BBC One and download their free BBC Player (only the first time). Then you can watch Series 3 live. I watch every Sunday at 4PM USA, which is 9PM UK time. Then download the movie to the BBC Player on my desktop to re-watch at no additional cost for 30 days. You can also stream, but you'll have to ask your VPN service how to do that.
