Death Becomes Her
(1992)

I can see the allure for 1992
I can see how this movie was so popular; watching it in 92 with those effects must have been amazing; watching it in 2024 I'm bored with it. A few funny parts but the main characters are so unlikeable I have no one to root for. Goldie Hawn I guess but she's bad too.

I'm bored watching it. I actually have to watch it in parts because I can't watch it all the way through.

It's hard to give such a bad review to all 3 of the main cast because they are all great actors. I think they relied on the special effects and not enough plot. I wish I had seen it when it first came out so I can be in that mindset of being in awe.

Out of Time
(2003)

Love Denzel but this movie is unmemorable
I saw this in the theater when it came out and even then I thought it was laughable that they casted Eva Mendes as Denzel's EX wife ; how old was she when they got married, 10? LOL. That glaring fact is all I remember about this movie . Love Denzel, and his acting was on point but this glaring miscast is all I remember.

I believe she was cast to be the eye candy and to show Denzel's character had a sexy wife at some point but I think this would have went better if they had casted a sexy older woman, closer to his age but in 2003, Hollywood didn't think sexy older women would sell movie tickets or that there just weren't any 🙄

All About the Benjamins
(2002)

Very dated
Watching this in 2024 it's obvious the humor didn't age well. Old ladies cussing, misogynistic humor, low rise jeans LOL. Very outdated and I see why I had self esteem issues back then.

The plot is ok but I haven't finished watching it. I like Mike Epps but in this role he seems repetitive and not really going anywhere with it. Eva Mendez plays her same role sexy sidekick 🙄 It may improve by the end but based on some of the other reviews it's doubtful. It looks like the real funny jokes are on YouTube shorts now.

Stream for free but definitely not worth paying for. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this; had I watched it in 2004 I may have enjoyed it more.

Best. Christmas. Ever!
(2023)

Not family friendly
This movie is set up like a movie to watch with your kids but it has some really inappropriate scenes and jokes revolving around sex that are just cringy. What is confusing is the movie is too silly to be taken seriously by adults but sex jokes that are too uncomfortable for kids ( even if it goes over their heads) who is the target audience here? No chemistry between Biggs and Graham. It's truly a shame because the plot points with the son and is Santa real or not would have made the movie a great Christmas classic for the entire family to enjoy but they had to mess it up with all the sexual innuendos SMH.

You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah
(2023)

Not a movie to watch with the entire family
My 12 year old daughter loves this movie. I'm really hoping some of the inappropriate stuff went over her head, one thing that comes to mind is the ( frontal fart) "joke" ???? I mean come on!!! And this is supposed to be a movie for preteens? I didn't even know how to address this with my own preteen! It's vulgar and embarrassing. The menstrual pad floating in the water? Did they have to show it bobbing like that and realistically would it have just came out of her spandex shorts like that? Poor attempt again at humor. Another cringe moment was during the " God is random" song the rabbi has the lyric that she's had a yeast infection for 11 years? I'm assuming this was supposed to be hilarious but we didn't laugh. Who was the target audience for this? If it was supposed to be preteens then why so much vulgarity? The adults who tuned in to watch didn't seem to like it either.

I'm giving it a 2 and not a 1 because like I said my daughter liked it and there were certain parts of it that I liked such as the mother/ daughter scenes and some of the non vulgar jokes landed but due to what I mentioned I couldn't fully commit to liking this and I did mention to my 12 year old how unrealistic it would be to be besties again so quickly after utterly humiliating someone. It's a shame because I really think this could have been great if they had stuck to the target audience of preteens and made it more coming of age appropriate.

Don't Look Up
(2021)

Funny
I enjoyed the movie up until the end. The only consolation is that the president gets what she deserves at the very end. But the way it satires today's society is spot on and that is sad as well. All the actors do a great job as well.

Being the Ricardos
(2021)

Beautifully told story
Nichole Kidman was phenomenal in this role. I absolutely love how the store of their relationship was told. I only wish this were a mini series because I want to see more.

Down to Earth with Zac Efron
(2020)

Relaxing
Although I do agree with some of the negative reviews; I did enjoy the show, it's relaxing to me especially during these times.

Bridget Jones's Baby
(2016)

Waited too long
It would have been better if they made this sooner. Some funny moments but sometimes jarring to watch.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold
(2019)

Slow moving
A lot o it was cringe worthy. Some of the highlights for me were.

1) Boots 2)the throwback portions to the cartoon 3)Dora herself

The Favourite
(2018)

Confused
Loved the costume and the actors but I had no idea what the heck was going on

Why Him?
(2016)

As much as I love franco
For as much as I love James Franco I tried 3 times to watch this movie and could never make it to the end. Basically ditto to what everyone else has said.

Mamma Mia!
(2008)

Not a family film
Gave it a 3 simply because I grew up listening to ABBA but I wasn't thrilled with the story. Not something you can sit and watch as a family since the sexual innuendos are all throughout. I loved the young couple in the movie but everything else was super annoying
