I.S.S.
(2023)

Pretty shocking
I'm not sure how this is an April release in cinemas, I watched it back in February at home so it's available on one of the platforms.

It's pretty bad, shockingly bad. It's a poor storyline, poorly acted and pretty nonsensical. Based around different nationalities receiving the same order to take over the I. S. S when war breaks out, not enough spaces on the Souyez so there's a bit of an argument about that and then those that are left duke it out for control.

It's not very memorable, effects are mediocre and it's a bit slow. All the action is in the trailer and not much else happens. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it in the cinema but did make it to the end. Just about.

Vigil: Episode #2.4
(2023)
Episode 4, Season 2

Good until episode 4
This second series had been pretty reasonable until episode 4 but this one has completely let it down. It's one where you're left scratching your head thinking why do the BBC think our military would be this poor when it comes to operations on foreign soil. Yes I know it's fictional but this was a real let down. The kidnap, the nods and shakes of the head when they're deciding should they or shouldn't they try and escape, the feeble attempt to tie them up with duct tape, the slowest chase through the town and then the farcical rescue from the special forces. Come on BBC, this was awful and I think I'm done with this series.

Doctors
(2000)

One star is too much
This show is dire, the storylines are dire and the acting is dire. It's supposed to be set in the Midlands but the main character Nina seems to talk with the type of accent that you'd more likely find in the old black and white voice overs from the 1930s, strange compared to her days in Corination St as Les Battersby's annoying but on the side. I think she must have auditioned, was told it was for a doctors part and decided to put on the most ridiculous accent and she's been stuck with it since.

As for the doctor surgery, no wonder there's a doctor / GP crisis in this country if this show is anything to go by. They spend their day drinking tea and chatting rather than dealing with patients, of which there are very few ever in the surgery. They diagnose strangers on the street and seem to have endless numbers of walk in appointments.

It's terrible, it's like watching a slow motion car crash, you have to look and then wish you hadn't.

The Rig
(2023)

Utter tripe
Bad script, bad plot, bad acting, bad VFX. What an utter waste of time this was, have actually given up after 3 episodes. Strangely after 10 minutes of the first episode I thought it would be pretty poor but nothing could prepare me for how bad it actually was. What makes it worse is I still need to type another 300 characters to post this review, I really don't know what more to say. It's bad, very bad, definitely worth doing something else like a puzzle or read a book. Just don't waste your time, you'll regret it, then read this review and then wish you had read this first. So you've been warned! And I've met the minimum character limit.

Moment of Proof
(2021)

Can't stand the narration
The investigation process is interesting but I can't watch it because of the narration, it's terrible and just spoils the whole story. Sorry but that needs to be changed, doesn't seem like I'm alone either!

Am I missing something, this is pretty dull, slow and rather annoying
I was expecting so much from this based on the reviews, media hype and general attention it has been getting. Battle Royale is one of my favourite films so was looking forward to a modern take on that.

This has been pretty average throughout, the premise is interesting enough but the games are slow, overreacted whimpering, heavy breathing and an attempt to build suspense. I've watched it dubbed in English and original with subtitles, both are equally underwhelming.

Some of the characters just annoy the hell out of me, particularly the woman with the curly hair.

It's soooo slow, the games get dragged out to the point you either want to give up or skip forward to get past the filler chat - who cares that tempered glass is 700°?

Aesthetically it's very pleasing, the sets are great, the wardrobes give it an edge... this will be the Halloween outfit of the year.

All in all it's just about watchable, but the thing I take away is "is that it?".

The War of the Worlds
(2019)

Truly awful
Don't even bother thinking that watching this series is a wise investment of your time. It's not. So bad I can't be bothered to describe why, but it is. So don't.
