The Fourth Musketeer
(2022)

Even as a "B" movie this was terrible
I watched this because the high rating but quickly found it was a stacked deck. They used every trick in the book to make it look bigger, such as using artistic drawings for the cut scenes, but I still think they made the complete movie with just 4 sets. It doesn't matter because the acting matched the sets, small and uninspired. Finally, the script. It was horrible, just horrible. Do not watch this, ever, find an old movie and be happy.

The Green Knight
(2021)

When the quest for artistic as at the expense of a good movie
The director and writer spent a lot of free time trying to come up with artistic tricks but there is a line when it just becomes weird and they cause the story to stall. When the main character begins his big quest for the Green Night it really falls apart. I usually like this type of movie, something a little bit off but this just made no sense. One detour after another, they made zero sense. Then they didn't give you any clues so you could connect a few dots. They have a fox that is semi explained but more questions are created than solved. The ending is even worse.

If you were a fan of the other versions, ie... Sean Connery's, or the stuff from the 40's and 50's, forget it.

If you want to watch something that leaves you full of questions (or known as the "WTF ending"), or you're into being unfulfilled, here you go.

The visuals were nice, and the costumes were well done. The actors committed to the roles so it was well acted. They must have found actors with a recent death in the family to keep the depressing vibe going. The accents kinda matched, but that was the only pluses I found.

Waiting for the Miracle to Come
(2018)

Interesting. That's it. Rerun of Criminal Minds would be better.
Look, I don't review movies because I'm a little too blunt, but, since there was nothing here, i decided to throw one out there. Even though I went to film school and worked in Hollywood, I am not a "Reviewer".

This movie's plot is very weak and the story telling of it is all over the place. I ended up following one story line, only to have it end without explanation. Ultimately, I hung on only to see if something paid off, only to have it plod along, A to B to C to D, then end abruptly. Even the big ending, mother and daughter finally meeting each other, was two women staring and gazing into each other's eyes. Really, after 50+ years that's it? What about the house, what about the Gold?

Charlotte Rampling looked great, as did Sophie Lowe, even though she came off as creepy. Willie played an old man, no stretch there.

Visually this is hard to watch. They cranked up the yellow and greens, while removing contrast, leaving everything washed out. I don't know if the yellowing was supposed to convey age but it didn't work.

You know the movie. The one where it looks like it might be going somewhere new, so you sit and wait for something to reach out, only to have it end. Then you stare at the screen and say "what the hell was that?", and you feel you would have been better off not watching it.
