It may be a prequel to Army of the Dead, but the film is a good watch. It exists on its own merits and has the comedy and romance one would expect from a heist film. The writing is good, making the characters endearing. The acting is great, and production valurs are solid.

I would recommend.

If you wonder if reality is a simulation, watch this.

The film doesn't make any moral decisions. It doesn't blast on religion or government. It doesn't have any conclusions. But it will mess with your perceptions of reality. Isn't that enough?

Questioning your reality is important before you can construct a new reality. This film may help you do that.

One reviewer said that the acting was bad, but that isn't it. The acting is good, mostly.

The writing is cliche and a bit over the top. There are scenes that are unnecessary (probably rationalized as "character development"). The editing is a bit quick like there needs to be a beat or two after dialogue before a jump scene - It has the feel of a "previously on..." bit.

The directing improves as the series progresses.

The camera work gets better, too. In the beginning, it looked a bit jumpy like they were going to go the "24 method"... but thankfully, they did not.

Probably the biggest shame is Neil Maskell (Rasin Boy in Utopia was awesome!) didn't get a bigger roll.

If you are into sci-fi, it is worth a watch. If you like to deconstruct tv shows, then maybe you'll have better insights as to what is flawed that I have. Good luck!

It flick is not some fancy "aliens built the pyramids" TV show. However, it also doesn't try to be something it is not. It is a podcast from someone in an industry that is shrouded in mystery: alien investigations.

I found it believable, plausible, even though I am a skeptic.

The challenge will always be proof over disbelief. This film doesn't try to force belief but it does an excellent job of conveying one person's experience.

So if you like podcasts about mysteries, check it out!

....what's not to like?

The film has a Tarantino-esq quality. It is well shot and well directed. The editing has a mildly artistic quality without being annoying. The acting is realist which lends a good gritty feel under all the polish.

Definitely worth watching.

This is a gritty film that doesn't spoon feed the audience. The film doesn't overly rely on CGI to tell the story. Instead it uses actors, action and mystery which are all held tense by the treat of discovery by the alien occupying force. The script doesn't try to explain every detail with mythical science. Instead it sets the world and lets the actors and visuals unfurl the story organically. It does that really well, without leaving the audience confused if paying attention - so not a good film to scroll on your phone. That shouldn't be a problem because the acting is outstanding. The director did a great job to get these great performances that all flow well. The cinematography is reminiscent of spy films, which is fitting for the mood of the piece.

All up, this film is really well made. It is definite worth watching for anyone that enjoys intelligent Sci-fi, spy films or dystopian films.

The show has a feel like Firefly with a rag-tag band of outlaws trying to squeak by in a hostile galaxy. What really sells the show is the acting. The performers do a great job in making their characters believable. I am most impressed with the Android, Zoie Palmer. It is not easy to play an emotionless machine, but she nails it. Her ability to jump accents and emotional states really sells the character and is quite impressive to watch. It takes a lot of skill as an actor to pull that off, and she does it well. So, binge watch the show while waiting for the next series of The Expanse.

A dark comedy series. The writing is excellent and the voice actors do an excellent job of giving it life. They also nail the jokes, with great comedic timing. If you are hanging for the next season of Rick & Morty, then this is the show you want to scratch that itch!

In short: The film has quality acting, direction, special effects, and script. That alone makes it unique in the horror genre.

This is the best zombie film to come out for many years. The plot is original and the story line develops organically. It is a very well written film. The actors do a great job, which makes it worth watching just because that is often rare in a horror film. They also do great in conveying important points and ideas to the audience. The film has a budget, so the gore and special effects are done in a quality manner. This also makes this film worth watching. The director has done a great job in shooting this film.

This film is likely to be a cult classic. It it reminiscent of a Gwar video but with less nudity. If you are looking for high-art or some main stream action adventure, then skip this film.

This film does something new and unique! The visual style is quite cool as it blends live acting with computer generation. The costume designer and make artists have done a great job in creating the characters. The actors have done a good job playing multiple roles without being obvious (I had to read the credits to figure that out).

This team has managed to put together a fun movie with limited budget and cast. This film won't win any Oscars. It might not even be that good... but I enjoyed it.

If you haven't seen the Expanse yet, you should!

This may have been sold as a "crime-space drama" but it is so much more than that! This show has a wider audience appeal than just sci-fi buffs. This is NOT the typical Sci-Fi channel show. They have a decent budget, and have used it very effectively on the settings and design. The scenes are shot in a way that is utterly believable. Some of the scenes with physics "quirks" of space are unexpected, but the actors (director) respond in the way that would be expected for someone living in a space faring environment. The physics of 0-G to low G is very well done. The set and costume design is awesome! The digital animation sells it and really sets the scenes. Casting has done an excellent job to find characters (even extras) that approximate the physical characteristics that would be found in a long term micro-gravity environment. The writing is intelligent and keeps the viewer engaged.

All up, the show is very well done. It is a true to life portrayal of a potential future. The treatment is done with such realism that the show is very believable.

For anyone that enjoyed Blade Runner, this is a "must watch"!

The film itself, I thought, was quite good. The premise is a little silly, but it is a Sci-fi comedy. The films execution is not silly in the way of Mars Attack (1996), http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116996 The acting is very good and the sets, scenes and cinematography are well executed. A well executed film, even if it is a questionable premise.

The set design is reminiscent of Brazil and 12 monkeys. The cinematography has that Sin City and 300 feel to it. The actors have done their jobs well and brought to life a dodgy premise so that it is (almost) believable. The acting carries the film and helps the viewer "suspend disbelief" long enough to enjoy the film.

It is light entertainment, and light entertainment has it's place. Worth watching.
