The Guilty
(2021)

More Trash, Hollywood is a Joke
Why? Every actor, every director, every film. Netflix is absolutely ruining Hollywood. Shot in 11 days? From a van? And we're supposed to consume this and enjoy it? Praise it?

American Honey
(2016)

Two hours and forty-three minutes....
This movie isn't worth the time. It had some decent moments, but in no way did it represent the youth of America. It just turned into a giant sing along with actors clearly in their 20's and 30's bobbing their heads and improving horrible dialogue along the way. Nothing overly compelling happens. There is no direction for the story to go. There is no third act and resolution/climax. This movie is like water. It just is. And it should've been an hour and forty-three minutes. 2/10.

The Call
(2013)

C'mon how is this above a 4?
Extremely thin plot is an understatement. At no point is the movie believable. Even the first act feels like a ripoff of Taken, minus any palpable sense of fear or believability. The second act is a joke. No spoilers, but how are police not onto this immediately? And any people that would blatantly be able to identify and pinpoint the location? The first phone call, the second, broad daylight, clues aplenty, let alone the exact location of these incidents.

The fact that this drags on for more than forty-five minutes is an absolute joke. There are so many plot holes it's Swiss cheese and then some.

3/10. The overhead shots and camera sequencing give it those three stars. The acting is below a five. Just. Don't watch this or believe the 6.7 it currently is rated.

Death Zone: Cleaning Mount Everest
(2018)

Why the Climate Change Narrative?
This film could've been one of the better stories ever told about Everest if they just stuck to the Sherpas vs pushing the climate change agenda. It feels extremely messy at times, and would've played out better if they had just showed the incredible journey and danger that is these people's lives. Sherpas have evolved to have better tolerances to high altitudes, stemming from their ancestors living in Nepal at an altitude of 8,000+ feet. There's no mention of that, and the focus instead is on "black carbon" or "changing weather patterns". 7/10 for me, good idea but the film can't decide if it wants to talk about the Sherpas or climate change. It's pretty clear in the film the Sherpas have no idea what the Western world views as a problem, and why should they? They travel on foot with yaks. Would imagine their carbon footprint is better than that of a 5 year old.

Unknown
(2011)

6.8? Did 250,000 third graders vote on this film?
Unknown is about an "American" doctor in Germany that is in the country to attend a conference for medical research. He's there on business with his wife, checks into his hotel, loses a suitcase and then gets in a car wreck when the taxi driver (Diane Kruger) accidentally runs the car off of a bridge. This causes the protagonist to go comatose for four days and subsequently lose his memory. Unfortunately, the plot is Swiss cheese and the acting is almost as bad. It's a shame because this movie contains a few incredible actors, but they had no chance to pull this thing out of the mud. I'm just left wondering how 250,000 people could give this 6.8/10? The Hunt is a 6.5, don't waste your time with this trash. 4/10 and it's too high
