One of the most refreshing Taiwanese shows It is set under the circustances when China issue (pro-independence/pro-China) is taken out of Taiwanese politics and the other issues become more important. To give a little more context, the most important ideologies in Taiwan is pro-independence or pro-china, not left or right. Though some will say it is less a political show and more a show that centers on themes like gender equity, female/queer experiences in the political field.
The main character Weng-fang is an openly gay politician with a long-term partner. She encountered many obstacles in her political journey being a queer woman. The shows also deals with topics like sexual harrassment at work and sexual/emotional abuse by powerful men, which is mainly portrayed through the character Ya-ching.
It is surprisingly real with lots of nuances, and it is both serious and funny. If you are interested in Taiwansese democracy and culture, you should definitely give it a watch.
I rate it 7/10 because I think overall the details can be improved (cinematography, music). For example, I feel some scenes are too long and can be edited to be more concise. I like it because it's authentic. The dialogues and the code-switching are fun. The topics discussed and the way they were discussed are very refreshing in Taiwanese TV.
