The Invisible Man
(1958)

Give it a chance
I stumbled across this a few weeks ago and did not think I would watch it. I had never heard of it. I thought this was going to be another bad old TV series but I was greatly surprised. It funny, cute and has great lines. My favorite line so far is "Hey, quit shooting at me or one of us is going to get hurt, and it won't be me" 30 minutes is the perfect time for this show and I am liking the humor and semi serious subject. I love the normal things that get done by the man, liking dialing a phone. The only bad thing is that he gets knocked out almost every episode. How does that happen? He is invisible!!!!!!!! Even my wife likes it.

Snowbeast
(1977)

Yes its campy but...
I still watch it year after year. Its one of the multiple post Jaws creature movies made in the late '70's, like Grizzly, but I know what I am getting when I watch it. Bad acting, blood and a monster killing lots of people. What else could you want in a movie? Once. Year I watch Night of the Grizzle, Grizzly, Moon of the Wolf, and this movie. If you like any of the former, you will love this movie also. A couple of big name stars are in these movie, ( including Clint Walker from Night of the Grizzly fame), they may of just needed a check this year. Is this an oscor movie, no, but sometimes a simple plot movie is just want you want on a raining Saturday afternoon.

War of the Worlds: The Attack
(2023)

Could not finish
Were to start. I really wanted to watch this. The original is my all time favorite sci Fi movie. The clothes say 1980's, the equipment used says early 2000's, ( where do you even find a handheld camcorder any more), the plot says ET ripoff. 3 kids that are supposed to be in college but ride little bikes around and live at home. After the first attack the 3 kids ask each other where should they go. Not the police station, not the military, one kid said lets go to my Mum's. The alien looked good, special effects looked good but the plot was bad and the acting worse. I last 5 more minutes and decided life is too short.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters
(2019)

Will never watch again
The classic I can watch over and over. Some of the older ones I can watch for camp but this one I could barely finish. Everything scene is dark, the plot makes 0 sense and of course the return of the monsters fix the earth. I can't believe someone got paid to write this. The casting is awful, like they just went to hire whoever is hot in Hollywood at the moment. This is what happens when you take monsters movies as serious statements. The mom needs to be prosecuted and thrown in the super max prison. And of course the planes can fly in unbelievable ways than make cartoons seem like higher art.

Yellowstone
(2018)

Over rated
This is the most over rated show since Avatar. I know this area well, This is MT the way people from CA think MT is. Sheridan may not be from CA but he wrote the show the way out of state people want it to look like. The Yellowstone is a criminal gang that rides horses. Also, cowboy bar fights every sat. Night and ranchers killing people that want to quit working for them. And what would a show be without the noble Indians showing up white people. The daughter grew up rich so she thinks she can do whatever the heck she wants. Talk about a privileged Karen, she is the poster child. Didn't make it thru the 2nd season.

The Monster That Challenged the World
(1957)

They didn't try
Was the budget so low they didn't try to have the characters be realistic? The hero, a navy commander has been on base a week, but knows everyone. He works out of the Naval Intelligence office, but is reviewing file of men going to be disciplined. Then with the first people going missing, he is called first instead of the men's commanding officer. And he addresses the radio operator that calls him by man not rank. And thats just the first 15 minutes of the movie.

Rogue
(2020)

Rooting for the lion to eat everyone.
What a terrible movie. Fox leading a team of merc and she's the weakest member of the team. No realistic tatics, over the top acting. I only finished watching to see the Lion eat everyone.

Friday Night Lights
(2006)

Started off great
The first year was awesome but each year it got worse. Every possible teen problem in the world was thrown into the series and less and less football was shown. From season 1 to season 5 they went from a small texas town to the streets of Baltimore as shown on The Wire.

The Last Days on Mars
(2013)

The dumbest space crew ever
If this is the best and brightest Earth has to sent into space we need to defend NASA. If this is how people act after 6 months in isolation we need to train crews better. They argued, made stupid decisions, and disobeyed orders just like normal people, not people who have trained their entire lives for space travel.

The Stand at Paxton County
(2020)

Why can't hollywood get things right.
The first thing that jumps out on me is that the Fergus Falls newspaper is in the WRONG state. Fergus Falls is in MN. I was in ND when this was going on, it was a terrible story but why make things up? Good movie once you get over the errors.

The Tomorrow War
(2021)

A few bad things in a good movie
OK 30 years in the future our military is still using HumVees and M-4's. So to fight aliens we would not upgrade the weapons we would be using? Heck the Badass draftee is carrying a shotgun. I am having a hard time seeing how any alien being would take multiple hits from a .50 cal rifle and not suffer any damage. Those things punch holes in armor. Why is it Holloywood just throws out military ranks like they throw out producing credits. Chris P says he was a 1st sgt in the SOF community, which means he had to have 15-20 years in service and he would be a retired vet. Not just a former soldier, and since he has been teaching for a while he would be a lot older than his role is.

Run Hide Fight
(2020)

Much better than I expected
I am so tired of movies made by conservatives that stink. Not this one. BUT, the opening is so wrong. There is no deer hunting in the spring.

Avengers: Endgame
(2019)

Too much
Part 1 of the 2 final movies was perfect. Character development was still going forward. Endgame is nothing but a screen full of the characters we have come to know and love. It tried to tell too much so what we ended up with was clips and a lot of jumping around. It was like a movie made up of movie preview clips. What a let down after all these years.

The Beverly Hillbillies
(1993)

What a waste
I Could not finish the movie. The acting was so over the top it was a parody and not a comedy

Multiplicity
(1996)

Did you bring me a monkey?
I own this movie and its one of my favorite movies. How can anyone not love the interactions of the very distinct clones? The scene of the condo inspection is one of the best scenes in the movie.

Fargo
(1996)

This is so like ND.
This is real life up in the northland. I saw so many people I grew up with in this film. Awesome to watch when I miss ND.

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)
(2014)

Unwatchable
My wife and I could not make it past 30 minutes. Made no sense, over acted. And i like the actors very much in the movie.

Into the Grizzly Maze
(2015)

Could have been a winner
As a hunter and military man this was tough to watch. Its as if a tree hugger went out and made a hunting film. Let me just list the unbelievable happenings. I would not have been so disappointed except for the story build up. The people involved grew up hunting. The are all experienced woos people and yet they act like they are in the woods for the first time. 1. Deputy sees the bear, instead of using his hunting rifle he pulls out his pistol and starts shooting at long range. Of course he just hits trees. 2. 4 people and 2 rifles, 1 of which is a dart rifle. So they throw the dart rifle away because everyone knows 1 rifle is better than 2. 3. The scene i was looking forward to was billy bob meeting the bear, and everyone who watches these shows knows the bad hunter would lose. But they didn't even show the first meeting. All you heard was some shots and then you see his horse running away. Such a let down. 4. The group is down to 1 rifle and when the hero goes off to let the bear astray, of course in the first encounter he loses the rifle. 5. The sheriff knows there's a killer bear in the woods. So when he goes to meet the group he brings a shotgun and no extra rifles. Every beginning hunter knows you don't bring a shotgun hunting big game. And where are the big bore handguns experienced people carry in bear country. What we see are little semi autos being used at long range hitting a lot of branches. 6. So we see an experienced nature photographer out in the woods setting snares. So what happens when she sees a bear? She walks into the trap she just set. Really??? 7. The hero says he will take the first watch. There's a killer bear out here after all, but when he gets cold he crawls into a tent and neglects to tell anyone. Of course thats when the bear comes. The scenery was great and the acting was good but so unbelievable unless you have never been in the woods.
