Chennai Express
(2013)

Rubbish and boring
This movie is basically boring. The humor in the movie is for the mass with no sense of humor. The songs are dirty and untimely. The action sequences are just rubbish and I wish the director would have done away with many of those parts. The ending is similar to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and is very predictable. The only scene that seems interesting is the twist at the beginning just after Shahrukh first pulls Deepika into the train.

It is nothing but a waste of time to watch this movie. If you are not a die-hard Shahrukh fan you would simply sleep over most of this movie. I wouldn't say there are even 10 sequences in this film where you would feel like having a full laugh. I would say that Rohit Shetty's Golmaal series was a much better entertainer than is nonsense of a movie. I would rate it as the most over-hyped third-class movie of this year - though the year is not yet over.

Let me rate this 4/10.

Illogical stuff but fun
If you can't stand a movie full of illogical stuff - don't watch this. This one is full of illogical stuff and fun. Pulkit Samrat (as Hunny) decodes Varun Sharma's (Choocha) dreams and mysteriously churns out a lucky number that is used to buy lottery tickets and - mysteriously again - they click. And this is what gets them and two more of their friends Ali Fazal (as Zafar) and Manjot Singh (as Lali) into big trouble - when Choocha makes up a dream that he has not really seen - and a lot of money is at stake. The movie is full of funny anecdotes here and there. Hunny and Choocha is great in the first part. Richa Chadda (as Bholi Punjaban) has stolen the part after the interval, however. Priya Anand's (as Priya) silent expressions are worth mentioning. Watching this movie is a better experience than many comedies featuring mainstream Bollywood stars - that is, if you consider those Akshay and Salman starrers as comedies.

Veer-Zaara
(2004)

Beautiful songs and Shah Rukh Khan
Squadron Leader Veer Pratap Singh (Shah Rukh Khan) is a rescue pilot with the Indian Air Force, who risks his own life to save the lives of others. One day, on duty, he comes across a stranded Zaara Hayaat Khan (Preity Zinta), a girl from Pakistan. Zaara, a carefree, sprightly girl has come to India to fulfill her surrogate mother's dying wish. She meets with a bus accident leaving her stranded in a foreign land.

Veer saves her life... and his life is never the same again...

Twenty-two years later, Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani Mukerji), a Pakistani lawyer on her first case, finds herself face-to-face with an aging Veer Pratap Singh. He has languished in a Pakistan jail cell for 22 years and has not spoken to anyone all these years - and no one knows why.

Her mission is to discover the truth about Veer and see to it that justice is served. And thus starts her journey to unveil the truth... the story of Veer and his life...

Why has Veer been silent for 22 years? Why is he in a jail in Pakistan? Where is Zaara? What happened to her? God has written the destinies of Veer and Zaara, such that they can never be joined together. Saamiya has come to change that... to join Veer and Zaara together... forever...

Veer-Zaara is not an ordinary story - it is a Love Legend... Veer and Zaara's love legend. This is a saga of love, separation, courage and sacrifice. A love that is divine, a love that is whole-hearted, a love that is completely consuming, a love that grows with separation, deepens with sacrifice.

A love that is an inspiration... and will remain a legend forever.

Cheap sense of humor. South Indian trash as usual
Cheap sense of humor. South Indian trash as usual. I watched this just because its new. But thank God, I watched it at home. I watched it because too many people were praising it for its stupid sequences. I watched it because too many people were praising it for its worthless film making. I'm shocked at how Taran Adarsh, an Indian film critic, journalist, editor and film trade analyst gave it a score of 4.5/5 and said: "BODYGUARD works for varied reasons -- it has a simple, but captivating story with a dramatic twist in the tale, the chemistry between the lead actors is perfect and the music is well juxtaposed in the narrative. And we thought Taran Adarsh is a wise man. I am shocked at how the Indian film-goers have made it into such a big hit -- it broke many records upon its release. Within the first day of its release, it went on to become the highest opening day grosser as well as the biggest grosser ever for a single day, breaking the records earlier held by Dabangg, another Salman-starrer. The film set another box office record, netting INR102.86 crore (US$22.94 million) in its first week, thus becoming the highest opening week grossing Bollywood film. As of 13 September 2011, Bodyguard has grossed INR215 crore (US$47.95 million) worldwide, and has emerged as Bollywood's second highest-grossing film ever. It is also the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2011. This is a joke.

nonsense
I wonder if there is any sense of sense in this movie. Its a big joke. Good.. Its entertaining .. You get to see the most stupid plot played very seriously in the form of a film .. I wonder which audience group this movie is basically targeted to.

Priety (a pros) plays a surrogate mom for a happy couple Salman/Rani who want a child but can't. I wonder how it would be if this drama was a real-life take-off from a real couple's life.

Rani appears happy with another pretty lady in her house who has been brought in to make a child for her & Salman. She cares for Priety and tries pushing her husband Salman to Preity so they may have some romance. When will the audience get fed up of Salman's nakhras.

Though a good past-time, this movie is unbearable. Absurd.

best action/crime of the year
This was the best action/crime thriller of the year .. Uncomparable .. The camera lights colors music acting are all in tune. The background score is well synched with the plot during all the movie. If you are mad for thrillers and love those Hollywood police/crime stories this is the right one for you. Just go for it.

A cops/robbers story here we have Amitabh, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar, Lucky Ali and Kumar Gaurav all set to rob a bank. You have only few numbers all of of which are simply great. Malaika is most of the time pole-dancing at the bar.

Not the usual bollywood flick .. you could pass this as a Hollywood thriller.
