We watched this movie as a family of Mainers. It was clear that they did not know what they were doing when they made this. The unfortunate quality of the acting made each scene a Sisyphean struggle. However, the digital cameras employed provided reasonably sharp film detail.
This would have been better as a straightforward documentary of the Wife Carrying competition at Sunday River. The dark subplot of Mississippi Al needing to get in a fight before the race disturbed me especially. The host was dry and uninspiring.
Really can't believe we made it to the end of this one. Do yourself a favor and just watch Best in Show instead.
