- "No one loves anyone... for more than two years" is an adaptation of five of Nelson Rodrigues' tales from "Life as it is". The movie shows the lives of five couples that live in Brazil in the early 60's. Elvira (Gabriela Duarte) and Orozimbo (Pedro Brício) are happily married and have a little girl, but isn't it weird how often their friend, Euzébio (Michel Melamed), shows up at their house, even when Orozimbo is not home?
Asdrúbal (Marcelo Faria) and Terezinha (Julianne Trevisol) just got married, but the lovely girl he met at the party turned out to be a tremendously snobbish lady. Their maid, on the other hand, is the sweetest!
Rafael (Pedro Osório) is extremely jelous of his wife, Marlene (Branca Messina), who's the perfect housewife. It's when her friends ask if she's still in love with him that she starts to look differently at Leocádio (Antonio Fragoso), Rafael's best friend.
Jandira (Julia Lund) and Ronaldo (Ricardo Martins) are madly in love. After the marriage, they are living the eternal honeymoon, but love doesn't pay the bills and Ronaldo just got fired. When thinking about ways of getting money, he realizes Jandira's beauty may be really helpfull.
The couples don't know each other, but they're all costumers of Epitácio's Bar, which is runned by Juventino (Ernani Moraes), waiter of the bar and the most devoted husband you'll ever know. His sick wife passes away, leaving him absolutely devastaded. She was the love of his life, a perfect lady, so decent! Or was she?
While the society considers them conventional couples, in their intimate lives, dissatisfaction and desire are not as morally acceptable. "No one loves anyone... for more than two years" treats humorously and intriguingly of the fragility of relationships, showing, as Nelson Rodrigues would say, Life as it is.
