Former The Game star Hosea Chanchez is set for a recurring role in the current second season of Black Lightning, which returns tonight on the CW.
Chanchez will play Marcus Bishop, a secret Asa operative in league with Dr. Helga Jace, played by Jennifer Riker. Codenamed Shakedown, he possesses the ability to generate vibrations and frequencies at will. Irreverent, bitter and impulsively violent, this ex-Air Force officer killed his superior officer when he was passed over for promotion because of a poor performance review. At Ft. Leavenworth, he signed with Dr. Jace and embraced his role with the Asa, taking pleasure in producing a high body count on his covert missions.

The renewal comes weeks after Queen Sugar, the network’s Ava DuVernay-created drama, also nabbed a third season.
Greenleaf celebrated the renewal with a tweet on Monday.

Bet Networks has debuted actress Regina King's feature length film directorial debut, an adaptation of "Let the Church Say Amen," on Netflix. Based on the best-selling novel by Reshonda Tate Billingsley, the film stars Naturi Naughton as Rachel Jackson, a wayward preacher’s kid who is struggling to pull her life together. With a six-year-old son out of wedlock and a high school diploma, Rachel’s mission in life is to marry her son’s father in order to become a traditional and respectable family and regain her father’s respect.
