It starts out as your typical Asian horror, you'll know what I'm talking about once you start viewing it. Then it becomes a little bit confusing as it goes a different direction, kinda out of the blue too, so it takes you by surprise.
But the humor is nicely put, some scenes were extremely well written, so you got that going on for you which is nice. Probably around 60- 70% of it is all gags, good ones too, but sadly, it all has to end: the movie, the laughs, the good mood. With this being said, I still recommend it, cause it was a nice change of pace, felt good and laughed more than I do on the usual comedies.
Make Me Shudder made me laugh and if you will allow it, it will take you there too. All up to you!
Cheers!

Well, little did I know that I was in a for horror comedy when I sat down to watch t his 2013 Thai movie titled "Make Me Shudder" (aka Mo 6/5 pak ma tha phi"). I thought that it was going to be an ordinary horror movie.
But thankfully the mixture of horror and comedy worked out quite well at the hands of director Poj Arnon. The movie turned out to be fun and enjoyable to watch, with just the right combination of Thai horror and comedy.
The storyline was good, and it was actually rather enjoyable, and director Poj Arnon did thrown a couple of curveballs along the way, so it wasn't just a straight forward ride. That meant that the movie turned out to be not overly predictable. And that was good.
I can't claim to be familiar with the casted actors or actresses in this movie. But I think they had a good cast ensemble, because they definitely put on good performances and carried the storyline nicely enough.
The special effects in "Make Me Shudder" were actually quite good, and that turned out to be a great thing for the movie. Especially since a horror movie should have good special effects in order to be effective.
I am rating "Make Me Shudder" a six out of ten stars. If you want a light-hearted horror movie with comedy elements, then "Make Me Shudder" is a good choice, whether or not you are familiar with Thai cinema.

It has some scares, it has some laughs and a likable cast. Some twists here and there help the proceedings. The film does a fairly good job at given character bits to it's ensemble cast, but could have streamlined a few of it's characters, some of whom are there to do nothing but scream and cry at appropriate moments. Puvadol Vechwongsa as James (with his bangs and getting the brunt of the abuse) , Brian Richard Garton as Brian (the wimp), and Withawat Thaokhamlue as Mark (the ghost) are the standouts and have some very funny moments.
It's main problem is the size of it's cast and the third act seems to go on and on past the point where they had any ideas left. Confusion sets in as you attempt to keep some of the lessor student characters straight. And boredom creeps up as you wish it would just wrap itself up.
It's thoroughly okay and a good way to pass the time if you have nothing else to do.

I didn't know anything about this movie when i watched it. I thought it was a horror movie so my expectations pointed toward the genre.
The beginning seemed like a B horror movie and i felt disappointed since i was in a different mood. Also acting was bellow average. I've been disappointing before and i have learned to have patience when it comes to movies. So i kept watching.
I'm happy i did. After a while i understood where this movie was taking me and after it revealed it's true nature both i and my girlfriend were turning from laughter. Not all the time but enough to keep us watching.
Keep in mind this is a Thai movie and if you're not used to Asian movies, it will be harder to lose yourself properly.
Give it a chance. I'm glad i did.

Sometimes horror, funny and shocking when some scenes in the film appear in shock but it's a lot of fun to watch in addition of this non-boring and flowing storyline.
