Perjalanan, which means "the journey" is a short drama of 20 minutes. It is about two Indo's (Eurasians) who will visit the country of their ancestors, Indonesia. John and Dewi are in a relationship of more than five years. Both have their own ideas and expectations about the country. Dewi wants to go and visit her relatives in Indonesia, ever since her mother passed away, six years ago. John, on the other hand, wants to go sightseeing, and come face to face with all the things he heard so much about. But most of all he wants to enjoy the holidays. Eventually it will be a search of their own identity. Perjalanan's Asian premiere was in 2014 at the Balinale International Filmfestival, Indonesia. This year CinemAsia Film Festival has official selected Perjalanan. CinemAsia is dedicated to broadening the horizons of the Dutch public and film industry in regards to contemporary Asian cinema by offering them a selection of the best films Asia has to offer.
