I am interested in the work of Kimberly Kane, as she shows much promise as both Adult performer and director, but this ridiculous example of porn-parody (= ripoff) taking on Stephen King via Brian DePalma's "Carrie" is quite a let-down.
It doesn't even use Carrie in its title, a rarity for the genre that generally trades on piggybacking the fame of its target movie (or TV show) to attract an audience.
The acting is wretched, especially by over-the-top performers like Dana DeArmond and Tommy Pistol encouraged by Kane to overdo it here, and the carbon copying of elements of the original done poorly. Instead of a bucket of blood porn on poor Sarah Shevon as prom queen Carrie, we get a bucket of cum, stolen by Dana from a sperm bang.
Several of the roles are assigned to untalented studs or crew members, a very dumb decision. And after half the running time is addressed to imitating the original movie, we get a non-stop orgy at the prom that runs 54 minutes (too) long.
It's pretty embarrassing, and fortunately Vivid soon stopped producing DVD features altogether, a change of policy heralded here by an endless house ad starring Aaliyah Love hawking the "get rich quick" appeal to young women to sing on as franchised Vivid webcam girls, cranking out amateur porn that hopefully nobody (including your parents) will ever see. Thus ends the leadership of the Adult Cinema industry for Vivid.
