As a fan of the manga, when i heard the announcement about it's upcoming anime adaptation i was both excited but also nervous, as i knew the beautiful art from the manga would be very hard to animate well. However, from the first episode, the anime looks good, with great visuals and voice acting. I definetly would recommend this show to anyone who enjoys action anime or even kaiju stuff like Godzilla., but although it is amazing it is mostly very generic shonen but it does it well, and character development is not just focused on the main character like some other shows but broadens for many different characters which allows you to connect with them. I hope this anime continues to go well, with the manga still ongoing this could be a series that becomes massive for a while if it is adapted well. 9/10.

This one through everything makes me feel inspired ! Like a smile stretches across my face and I'm feeling truly happy for these ppl and the moral goodness you can see straight away like the beginning of true heroes ah man idk I just really feel inspired by this story I'm ahead in the Manga but man, this beginning so far has been so joyful that knowing what's to come makes this so much more appreciable !!!

Sometimes beginnings are hard, there's the problem of cliche and maybe slight boredom but I'm just really impressed by the animation each ep has and knowing it's only up from here has me gitty!

This anime man.... It's really about the mc, more than it is about Kailju. Mc is a well written, likable character and you can't help but get caught up in his ups and downs. You feel for when he experiences hopelessness and despair, but his hope and heart are just infectious as he does his best to live his dream of joining the defense force. When the kaijus are up and the chips are down, and Hibino gives it his all...all I can do is smi-cry. The comedy and timing are fantastic, as is the choreography of the score in the climactic scenes. Everything comes together and builds towards great feel-good moments as Hibino fights his hardest every step of the way to pursue and fulfill his dreams of glory within the defense force.

Amazing adaption to the manga. It has everything you could want in an anime show and everything you were expecting if you read the manga. The voice acting is amazing. The visuals and animation would be very hard to make an adaption to but they did an amazing job. The show is exactly how I would expect a kaiju based show to be. However it is not unique for a shonen show and does not stand out from a lot of other plots. Some many find the show tedious because there is a lot of talking and could use a bit more focus on the main character but, as I have read the manga, I know where it is going to go and believe this is a perfect adaption. The character development is very good. I recommend this for every anime fan interested in more fighting based shows. 10/10.

Ive been hooked from the first episode that I even started reading the manga because of how much I fell in love with the story and characters. The anime Is faithful to the manga and they also have added extra scenes to the anime that the manga didn't have. The english dub voice actors have done such a great job at portraying the characters that I prefer to watch it over the sub version. The sound track is amazing and very on par with the shows vibe. The story feels familiar yet is unique and original to the Kaiju genre. I can't wait for the rest of the episodes to come out because from what Ive read so far we have something really special in store for us in the first season!

Wow FINALLY!! It's been a long time since I found an anime that really suits my type. From the characters, graphics, transitions, soundtrack everything really suits me. I already know this will be my new favorite anime. And definitely the best anime of 2024. This anime just really met my expectations and in fact I've been waiting for an anime like this to appear since I started liking anime all my life, as if the anime I imagined in my imagination was finally animated. I'm not joking, I really get goosebumps every time I watch every episode of Kaiju No. 8!! The soundtrack selection is soo great!! I actually expected the solo leveling anime to be this good, but unfortunately it wasn't enough and was very stiff. That's all thx.

A city endangered by monsters and a squade of heros defend that city, old repeated idea but the execution is very heartful, this and any other idea in the anime that seem repeated, its just done not only differently but in a very heart-warming and human way , every character has its motives , every character act from self appreciation before the appreciation of others which is there but in its place , every character needs to fulfill its needs and in the same time protect the others , the protagonist isn't the only hero like some other boring animes , there are plenty of heros each one from a different perspective , the action is great well prepared and clear to the eye not just fast movements and there is explanation for every fast or weird move up till now , and most important point is it doesn't need you to give it a shoot for 2 or 3 episodes to amuse you , it's very entertaing from the very beginning.

I love kaiju movies and shows and gave this a try after seeing all the hype and it's mid at best none of it makes any sense same anime bs.

There is not much tension or threat from the kaijus which should be the first thing should be in the kaiju show. Show the casualties show the people in danger and dying I watched 10 episodes only saw few people get injured and then get back to their 100% health in next scene.

And one other thing which I have problem in these kind of shows instead of arming those powerful weapons on combat vehicles they are arming humans and they created suits to handle the weapons even increase the power of their weapons which doesn't make sense at all. Tiny humans taking down kaiju 100 times their size can only happen in anime. For example in the fungus episode they were bombarding the big kaiju which doesn't Damage much and then they didn't bomb the smaller ones which could've been easily taken out buy missiles.

Yes the show is entertaining and funny but it's nowhere near 8/10 it's 5 at best idk why people overrate most of the anime the quality in anime has been decreasing but I think the amount of new viewers are increasing who don't think much they just having fun and move on to other shows. Because of this the plot and writing isn't that good nowadays people needs to be honest and rate shows responsibly it's actually affect the quality of shows.

Overall I had fun but had to turn off my brain because the show is pretty dumb In my opinion I rather like to watch the show after the death of Kaiju what humans do with their bodies I was interested in the first episode I think It could be a great show on its own.

Kaiju no.8 is really good. The action is really good and i like all the characters in the cast. The mystery around the kaiju is really well though out and i'm confident what reveal comes next is going to be well pulled off. Kaiju no.9 is really intersting and I'm interseted what happens with him. Same thing with Mina, i want to see more of her backstory. This anime is another darker, more serious shonen like Attack on titan. This isn't as bloody and the themes are more grounded but it is still really good. Truly The best anime this season and if you want a good, hype shonen you should watch it.

Its rare that an adaptation is better than the book. That is certainly the case here.

No. 1 difference to other anime out there is that the protagonist is a middle aged man rather than an angst ridden teenager. He's on his last chance (becoming too old) to fulfill a dream of joining the jdf and fighting kaiju alongside his childhood crush.

IG studios have truly knocked this adaptation out of the park. It doesn't matter if you watch the Japanese or the dub, as the direction, sound, timing, make those irrelevant. You will get swept up in it. The voice acting in all languages is so superb. They capture perfectly the silliness and emotions of the original manga and transform it onto a while other level. I thought I'd seen great animation with AOT, Arcane, Akira to name but a few. This leaves them way behind in terms of production and direction. So much care and attention has gone into this to get the beats and moments just perfect.

Having read the manga with each release and reread it. I know what each episode is going to contain. Yet each episode from 8 onwards was a heart pounding cliffhanger, with 11 being the most tense. Mentally thinking "fight it kafka, get control".

Really hoping they don't skimp on the production of season 02 in their rush to capitalise on the hype this is getting. As that would because tragedy.

Kaiju No. 8 is the story of Kafka Hibino, a young man who is half Kaiju. His dream is to become a member of Japan's defense force...that kills Kaiju. It's an epic show with plenty of great fights and well written dialogue.

The voice cast brings tons of life to the series and the dialogue sounds very natural in dub. The anime uses a dull color palette and has an overall basic feel, this helps the series feel serious and the animation is very smooth. The characters are interesting although the protagonist is the only one to have a particularly deep arc so far. The action scenes are epic and the great sounds enhances these scenes. The opening and ending themes are some of the best out there!

The plot is fairly straightforward shonen with nothing particularly unique in the story itself.

Kaiju No. 8 is a great watch and features a unique protagonist. The sense of humor combined with the sheer power in action scenes make this something fans of the genre shouldn't miss.

The show has really cool action sequences when it finally gets around to them!

Production quality is fine, also. The english voiceover is nice, no complaints there.

The writing is painful. The story meanders from cliche to stereotype to another character cliche and ticks all of the standard checkboxes you can come to expect from generic anime, with a huge load of self-doubting, self-pitying, crying, pride and honor rants, random mood swings, and superior 'cool' characters that are so extremely arrogant douches that they're carricatures but not functional human beings. And they're painful to endure. They hurt the believability of the setting.

A lot of of time (the majority of time!) is spent showing the viewer what the relatively boring and replaceable supporting human characters are doing, and sadly those things are neither interesting nor original.

When it finally is time to see what Kaiju No. 8 is up to, things are cool, and I wish they focused on this and the other badass Kaiju that are only featured here and there in some episodes, instead of blasting all of the time away with stereotypes that aren't memorable.

The kaiju designs range from interesting, to so-so, to creepy, and a few are quite cool. The weapons and tech that the good guys use look like gimped toys and their suits are straight up laughable to look at if you've ever played any games in which you encounter proper power armor and gear. No way in hell do those trashy swim suits help at all. Thankfully the writers smooth lethal injuries over with a good big dose of miracle healing.

That being said I'd still like to see a season 2 of this since there is so very few material out there with big bad monsters blowing stuff up.

Anyway, like most good anime this one has great character development. There's a lot of characters but each one becomes memorable. The main protagonist is likable and goofy. In fact this show has a lot of silly and serious moments. I just finished the final episode on crunchyroll and can't wait til season 2. Matter of fact I am in search of the manga just to see if the movie adaptation does it Justice like most of the reviews state.

Being an anime fan, gives me more excitement and truly this one of a kind that gives more expectation with more patients for next release. Animation is completey remarkable and the way of story is on another level by not letting with boring through out the 23min episode.

The way it has shown for the bonding of a team and the team efforts without any jealousness up to the episodes released as of now is showing an advantage for motivational terms.

Perfectly chosen characters in the anime with dubbing personality are being ultimately positive for the anime.

Hope to see the series without making any changes to the way as it is now on per episode.. story type, fun, excitement, actions, team efforts, etc..

Fantastic animation, even better music and sound effects and don't get me started on the amazing voice acting. They did a pretty faithful adaptation for TV. So good in fact that this anime stood out from the rest like gold thumb on a hand made from coal. The pacing is well done, nothing feels rushed and the comedic timing is really refreshing and at times completely unexpected yet used brilliantly. However remember, it's still a Shonen anime so don't expect anything not associated with that genre, nor does it break the mold of said genre. It's Shonen mixed with giant monsters and futuristic tech, who wouldn't want to see that?

I would definitely recommend it.
