"The Biggest Moon":
THE BIGGEST FAIL!
Went to the cinema to see this film with my mother on the day of the premiere! Honestly, I haven't left the cinema with a feeling of disappointment from a film for a long time, I WAITED FOR THIS FILM for 7 months, maybe more, and in the end I got a brutal cut.
99 minutes of snot, quarrels and incomprehensible crap., and also with the average acting of Simone Kust, here's a brief about "The Moon".
The plot is strange, delirious, illogical and incomprehensible. During the entire running time, the only thing we as viewers were told was that there are creatures called emers and they feed only on those emotions that they lack! There are also enemies of emers, cannibals, and that's it! Unfortunately, either 99 minutes of running time is not enough for a film like Luna, or the creators wanted to add a lot of extra scenes to this short running time, so that it would be some kind of hodgepodge to increase this short running time! I am for the second! I don't know what we would have gotten if Popogrebsky had shot the film, but in his place I would have also removed my name from the credits to disown this disgrace!
The graphics and visuals in the film are basically not bad, but they send greetings to the films of the 2000s, i.e. It doesn't hurt the eyes, but it smells a little of cheapness!
I have nothing to say about the actors, I will repeat about Simone Kust, she is beautiful and I think she is excellent as a model, but as an actress her acting leaves much to be desired! Somewhere she plays normally, somewhere she overacts, and somewhere she is wooden! Ivan Ivashov looks a bit like Gleb Kalyuzhny for some reason, I even confused him with him when I saw the trailer! But his acting was a little better compared to Simone, of all the actors I would like to mention Philip Yankovsky, he is probably the only one who pulled this film up! Well, Aristarkh Venes plays a character with the name.... BANANA, honestly, when I first heard this, I laughed out loud in the entire cinema! His name is Banana, BANANA PANCAKE! I am shocked that for me personally, the soundtrack of this film is the best part of the film! Igor Vdovin recorded an excellent and atmospheric soundtrack for the film, for me the best scene of the film is when Kust and Ivashov are sitting in the car, listening to the radio and the song August by Intelligency is playing. Unfortunately, the song has lost its relevance in 2024, but it made me nostalgic for 2020-2021! Finally, I'll mention the song In the Shells of Turtles by the band Sirotkin, also a great song! The only thing is, I'm not a fan of rave music and I tolerated one club rave song in the scene in the club, but that's just my musical taste, I won't give it a minus because of it!
In the end, "The Biggest Moon" is a kind of fantasy that got lost somewhere in 2005-2008, and is no longer relevant in our time! For the most part, the minuses for me are in the plot, but if this film had been released as a series for TNT in prime time, and there they would have revealed more of the lore, characters and it would have been more understandable, then I might have even given it a 7-8, but alas... I know that one book has been released in bookstores, where they already reveal more of the lore and a second one is planned (I don't know whether it has been released or not), but I won't buy and read the books, although if suddenly there is some big discount and these books will be sold for 200-250 rubles, then maybe I will buy them to delve deeper into the "franchise" and read!
I give "Luna" 5 out of 10 simply because I laughed heartily at the session together with my mother and in the moments of love between Katya (Simona Kust) and Denis (Ivan Ivashkov) they are basically a cute couple, but in those moments where they do not quarrel and do not scandalize!
There was no Russian "Twilight"! Alas!
I do not recommend watching it!
P. S.: With a budget of 400-500 million, the film collected pennies, something like 25 million, or maybe less (maybe more), I feel sorry for the money spent on filming this film, but I am glad that the film failed at the box office!
And also, after filming the film, 250 rats were released into the wild and into the cold, some of them died. The scene with the rats was cut out in the final version!
