He struggles to even maintain his grades, while she tops in her studies. Dev and Paro grow up and keep in touch via phone. Dev continues to flirt with Paro and asks her to send him naked pictures of her. Dev has an elder brother named Dwij (Binnu Dhillon).
Years later he returns home, where Satpal/Sattu, his dad, hopes he will marry Paro, even though she comes from a poor family. Dev is attracted to Paro, who has many admirers, as she has blossomed into a true beauty. Paro and Dev desperately want to have sex but cannot find space in a busy home as Dwij is getting married. A worker in his factory Sunil (Anjum Batra) falsely accuses Paro of being a flirt and a lose character woman. In reality Sunil loved Paro, but she rebuffed him and refused to have sex with him, and so he decided to malign her reputation. The next day, Paro and Dev meet in a sugarcane field, to have sex. Dev humiliates Paro by saying that she has slept around. Dev leaves in a huff. Meanwhile a guest at the wedding Bhuvan (Asim Sharma), likes Paro and takes the wedding proposal to her father (Kuldeep Sharma). Paro says that she loves Dev, but Paro's father says that Dev is his boss's son and they would never agree to a match in a poor family. Paro meets Dev, and realizes that Dev has believed Sunil's story. Paro accuses Dev of having sex with Bhuvan's sister Rasika (Parakh Madan). Dev calls Paro illiterate and unkempt and not worthy of him.
Paro gets engaged to Bhuvan. Dev overhears a conversation and finds that Sunil was lying about Paro. Dev realizes that he has made a massive mistake. Soon, Paro is married to Bhuvan.
Leni (Kalki Koechlin) is a schoolgirl from a rich family (her father (Sanjay Kumar) is the High Commissioner of Canada) & like any schoolgirl wear short skirts & invites unwarranted attention. Her boyfriend makes an MMS of them having sex & releases it. Her father kills himself. Her mother (Helen Jones) is French & leaves the country without Leni.
Leni is traumatized by her father's family as they threaten to kill her and bury her in the fields. he leaves home & comes to Delhi. Her friends refuse to support her & she falls in the hands of a pimp named Chunni (Dibyendu Bhattacharya) who offers her help to complete school & college studies in exchange of her body for prostitution.
Leni as Chanda has many customers & then one day Dev enters the room & falls on her bed. He is now into drugs & is clearly trying to forget the pain of losing Paro. Dev contacts Rasika and takes her to his hotel. Rasika realizes that all Dev wants is to have sex with her and she leaves. Dev tries to contact Paro but is rebuffed by her family. So, he frequents Chanda to try & get over Paro. Paro visits Dev in Delhi & Dev finds that she is now married to an old man with 2 kids. Paro is happy with Bhuvan & won't even have sex with Dev, something she lusted to do back when she loved him. Paro tells Dev to go back home and handle his dad's business and factories.
Dev returns to Chanda & thinks that he is in love with her. Chanda tells Dev that when Dev found that he had made a mistake with Paro, he should have apologized, but his ego was bigger than his love. Chanda falls for Dev & his story with Paro, she genuinely loves him. Dev is advised by Chunni not to fall for Chanda, but he does too. But soon reality hits as Chanda is a prostitute. Chanda has customers that she cannot refuse.
Dev goes on another one of his drug binges & ends up killing 7 people with his car in his drunken haze. His dad, who was funding his lifestyle till date, passes away in shock. Dev is under custody but released to attend his dad's funeral. His brother cuts him off the inheritance & gives him some money for the lawyer. Dev uses that money to traverse the country.
When he runs out of money, he returns to Delhi & tries to get in touch with Chanda. But she has left the brothel. He finds her at a Momo stand they used to frequent during the good days & get back together. Chanda helps Dev to get back on his feet.
