“The Dead Don’t Hurt,” the Viggo Mortensen-directed Western in which the three-time Oscar nominee stars alongside Vicky Krieps, has landed a number of international sales for HanWay Films.

Newly confirmed territory deals for the film — a Talipot Studio, Recorded Picture and Perceval Pictures production — include France (Metropolitan), Spain (Wanda & Elastica), Scandinavia (Scanbox), U.K. (Signature), Benelux (Imagine), Poland (Galapagos), Middle East (Front Row), Singapore (Shaw) and Airlines/Ships (Cinesky).

Regina Solórzano, Jeremy Thomas and Mortensen produce the picture, which also stars Solly McLeod (“House of the Dragon”), Danny Huston (“Worlds Apart”), Garret Dillahunt (“Blonde”), Colin Morgan (“Legend”), Ray McKinnon (“Knox Goes Away”) and W. Earl Brown (“The Unforgivable”).

Journey’s onstage lineup consisted of longtime members Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain, as well as vocalist Arnel Pineda, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, drummer Deen Castronovo, and bassist Todd Jensen. Set to a looping version of the pulse in Journey’s “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” the trailer sees Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink) enter high school, while Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Will (Noah Schnapp) are in California. As the friends navigate their different surroundings, a new supernatural threat surfaces, forcing them to once again confront the horrors of the Upside Down.

“A war is coming. Your friends in Hawkins are very much in the eye of a storm,” Eleven is warned. “I don’t know how to say this other than just to say it — without you, we can’t win this war.” Cue the title cards: “Every ending has a beginning.”

Given the talent and history behind this film I’m finding information on Niels Arden Oplev’s Man Som Hatar Kvinnor remarkably difficult to come by. Based on who’s involved I’m assuming that this is dominantly a Danish production - Oplev’s previous picture To Verdener is this year’s Oscar submission from Denmark - but no information currently appears on the Danish Film Institute website and the first trailers to arrive on the scene, strangely, have actually come from Norway. But here’s what we know. The film is an adaptation of a popular novel by Steig Larsson with a story revolving around a police detective and a young female hacker. The script is by Nickolaj Arcel, himself a sought after director currently remaking his own hit fantasy adventure The Island of Lost Souls in English and boasting writing credits on Twitch faves such as Journey To Saturn and Fighter.

A record 67 countries have submitted films for consideration for best foreign-language film for the 81st Academy Awards, Academy president Sid Ganis said Friday. Nominations will be announced on Thursday, Jan. 22, and the awards will be presented on Sunday, Feb. 22.
