Featured review
After his successful directorial horror thriller 'Mummy' which was released in 2016, Director Lohith is back with another impressive thriller film.
The story of the film is about a resilient mother who sets out on a quest to find her missing daughter. The film is based on a real life story and mainly explores the dark side of the city of Joy - Kolkata. There are some rather horrifying sequences where the rampant child trafficking and sexual exploitation of girls is shown.
The film has an engaging screenplay and keeps you hooked throughout. The film also has a subtle tone, with some really good cinematography, especially the dark red streets of Kolkata are captured brilliantly through the camera lens. Also the background score is impressive and gives the necessary thrills perfectly.
The climax of the movie could have been better. The other thing which is disappointing is the mismatch in the lip syncing of dialogues. This is quite evident at many places in the movie and partially hampers the viewing experience. Also since the story is based in Kolkata, the audience will have to refer the subtitles to understand the Bengali & Hindi dialogues.
Priyanka Upendra has given her best performance as a resilient & strong willed mother and her display of emotions is really good. Kishore Kumar stands out as a skilful & able cop. Aishwarya Upendra is cute but her acting skills could have been better.
Overall this film is gripping enough and makes for a good worthy watch for all the thriller movie enthusiasts.
