Featured review
I saw this film at a festival of short films in Toronto, and thought it stood out from a lot of so-called "art films" because the concept was so original - "redemption" found in cash coupons can be more than just material wealth! The story is unusual and quirky, but anyone from Canada can relate to Canadian Tire money. I though the direction was good, and the art direction imaginative. But I did find it was a bit talky in places. I liked the actor who played the middle-aged main character, Dorothy. I hope I can see it again sometime - it was refreshing to see a comedy about something familiar like Canadian Tire money - everyone seems to think that shorts have to be melodramatic calling card opuses.
