Featured review
Not a movie or a TV series, but a Dutch game show on television that gradually achieved cult status. The object of the show was for panel members to decide which one of three persons was a beekeeper, hair dresser, lumberjack etc. Because participants stood a chance to gain money, the real pro would then act as if he knew nothing about his profession, while the other two candidates, who had been instructed by him beforehand, gave all the correct answers. The show always rated high in terms of viewers. It has to be taken into account, however, that during the earlier years (from 1963 onward), Dutch viewers had only two channels from which to choose. The appearance of openly gay Dutch actor, author and former ballet dancer Albert Mol on the show did much to further the cause of Dutch gay liberation. This would seem to be the main reason why the show is remembered until this very day.
