Featured review
There was a lot of hype in the media about this miniseries. Considering the spectacular subject it was nothing special. The outcome is well known in Germany. So it wasn't even exciting to see those men fighting for their lives. There was an old TV docu-drama about the miracle of Lengede. Forty years ago the filmmakers could dare to show a dark screen for most of the time when the men in the "old man" tunnel had dialogue in complete darkness. Naturally, this was not the case in this movie. It's just a fair, routine drama. Heike Makatsch gives a good performance as grieving widow, though.
