According to Gold Derby’s current combined predictions, “The Wild Robot” is the frontrunner to win Best Animated Feature at the Oscars with 10/3 odds. If it prevails, it would be just the third film from DreamWorks Animation to do so. But the movie may prove to be an even stronger contender than many are expecting.

2024 has been very kind to Tim Burton. After years of commercial or critical flops, Burton's comeback started in 2022 with "Wednesday" season 1 and peaked with the recently-released "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" — a movie that was not just a success, but also became one of Burton's biggest hits ever. Now, a beloved Tim Burton animated movie is climbing the streaming charts.
Halloween is upon us, and that means the Top 10 charts for streaming services across the United States are filled with spooky titles for all kinds of audiences (as well as a handful of miscellaneous titles that managed to climb the ranks). On Max, for example, Burton's 2005 stop-motion animated film "Corpse Bride" is currently sitting comfortably at the number four spot, sandwiched between M. Night Shyamalan's new film "Trap," the latest adaptation of "Salem's Lot," and two chapters in Ti West's "X" trilogy (via FlixPatrol).

Plot: In this next installment, Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own. When it emerges that a vengeful figure from the past might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace may never be able to invent again!
Review: Few words bring as much joy when paired together as Wallace & Gromit. Since they debuted in the 1989 short film A Grand Day Out, the cheese-loving duo have been the benchmark for claymation films and have inspired countless directors and animators. After three short films released through the mid-nineties, Aardman Animation’s signature creations were not seen until the 2005 feature film The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. On Sunday, October 27, “Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” had its worldwide premiere at the Tcl Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The animated Netflix movie thrilled audiences at AFI Fest, earning a rapturous applause following its brisk 79-minute runtime. Prior to the screening, co-director Merlin Crossingham welcomed the crowd and revealed, “We only finished this film about two weeks ago, and we haven’t seen it with an audience yet.”
Co-director and franchise creator, Nick Park, added, “It’s amazing for me to think back when I created ‘Wallace and Gromit’ in college. Now, here we are in this amazing theatre.” “Vengeance Most Fowl” is the sixth movie in the series overall, and the second feature-length film following 2006’s Oscar winner for Best Animated Feature, “Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.”

‘Wallace and Gromit’ creator Nick Park is "a bit suspicious" of AI in the film industry. The 65-year-old animator was catapulted to success after the iconic British claymation series debuted back in 1989, though has now admitted he is concerned about the potential consequences of Hollywood becoming more reliant on technological machinery in its projects.Park told The Hollywood Reporter: "The authenticity is so key to the charm and to the humour. I have to question whether an AI computer will ever come up with a joke, will it ever come up with charm, will it understand what absurdity is, or irony?"The ‘Chicken Run’ creator added the movie business could be giving up "something deeply human" if it leaned too heavily on AI.He explained: "I feel there’s something deeply human that we could be giving up with this rush to AI."When we are talking about creativity,...

Feathers McGraw is back and implacably frightening as ever in Aardman’s latest, belated outing for everyone’s favourite cheese eating duo
This Christmas, the BBC are giving us a cracker: the first new Wallace and Gromit for 16 years. It has all the trimmings: Nick Park as co-director; a starring role for the Pontcysyllte aqueduct; cheese. But before its 25 December TV debut, the new film premieres at the American Film Institute festival in Los Angeles – presumably to enable an Oscar run next year.
But perhaps there’s another reason. For a Halloween premiere feels yet more fitting than a festive one. Wallace and Gromit, lest we forget, has always been surprisingly frightening. The Wrong Trousers was a classic noir, all oblique angles and chiaroscuro. The Curse of the Were-Rabbit featured brainwashing and a vampiric bunny as big as a bus. In A Matter of Loaf and Death, Wallace was romanced by a serial killer.

A scoundrel from Wallace and Gromit’s past resurfaces in “Vengeance Most Fowl,” causing fresh trouble for the eccentric English inventor and his underappreciated canine. As the spiffy sequel’s play-on-word title implies, the culprit is none other than Feathers McGraw, that diamond-thieving master of disguise last seen in 1993’s Oscar-winning short “The Wrong Trousers,” who seizes on another of Wallace’s inventions to engineer his escape from the local zoo in the stop-motion duo’s second feature in as many decades.
Watching Wallace and Gromit, you get the sense that the pair’s life is quite bland — as if they’ve passed the last 16 years (that’s how long it’s been since “A Matter of Loaf and Death”) enjoying a low-key routine of cheese and toast from the comfort of their home at 62 West Wallaby St. A little commotion could do them good, and while it’s clear...

Sometimes I think we put too much pressure on Aardman Animation. They’re the filmmakers who brought us “Wallace and Gromit,” “Chicken Run,” “Arthur Christmas” and “Shaun the Sheep,” so they have a very long legacy of high-quality and hilarious movies. Even their underwhelming films, like “Flushed Away,” aren’t nearly as bad as the worst movies made by their competitors. So we expect Aardman — like we expect Studio Ghibli (or like we used to expect Pixar) — to knock it out of the park every single time, and that’s not fair. They’re only human. It would be no great tragedy if the long-awaited, second feature-length “Wallace and Gromit” movie wasn’t very good.
Fortunately, the long-awaited, second feature-length “Wallace and Gromit” movie is great. So that whole first paragraph was just a big misdirect and I apologize. (It kind of got away from me.)

It’s been 31 years since Feathers McGraw, the silent, Arsène Lupin-esque penguin from Nick Park’s “The Wrong Trousers,” was caught trying to steal a certain diamond from a city museum. Confined to 10 years of imprisonment inside the city zoo, he’s now back in Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham’s Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and out for revenge.
Evincing the charm and splendiferously droll humor that’s endeared Wallace and Gromit to audiences since 1989’s “A Grand Day Out,” the film is reliably uncomplicated in its plotting. In the nearly two decades since our titular duo’s last feature outing, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, societal reliance on smart technology has only ballooned. And, it seems, so has that of the mild-mannered Wallace (Ben Whitehead). Indeed, the eccentric, cheese-obsessed inventor has grown so addicted to building contraptions that he’s become blind to Gromit’s needs and desires,...

It’s all about the fingerprints. Stop-motion animation intrinsically calls attention to its creation — the time-intensive nature of the process, the sheer amount of labor built into the design, the communal strength necessary for any project to come to fruition. The fingerprints left by filmmaker Nick Park and his comrades at Aardman Animation on the clay figures of their flagship duo Wallace and Gromit are visual proof of the tactility inherent in their construction. Because they were molded by hand, every adventure they embark upon—or, more accurately, every Wallace-related scrape from which Gromit helps them escape—has a personal touch that radiates from the screen.
In “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” the duo’s second feature-length film, Park and co-director Merlin Crossingham juxtaposes humanity — the kind that brought the eponymous inventor and beagle to life — against technology run amok. The contraptions that the eccentric Wallace crafted were always faulty,...

The thing about making a new Wallace & Gromit film is that it’s going to be compared to all the other films featuring the Northern inventor and his considerably brighter dog — a nearly unimprovable run of distinctly British delights. The good news is that this effort, featuring the return of villainous penguin Feathers McGraw from The Wrong Trousers, doesn’t let the side down, even if it doesn’t raise us to new heights either.
As we rejoin them, Wallace (voiced again to good effect by Ben Whitehead after the loss of Peter Sallis) has let his inventing run amok, outsourcing even dog-petting to one of his Rube Goldbergian devices. Gromit is fed up even before the overdue bills arrive, but Wallace has a plan: he will rent out his latest invention, a ‘smart gnome’ called Norbot (Reece Shearsmith), to pay the bills. After nearly 20 years, the bumbling, cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his long-suffering dog Gromit are back. Nick Park’s beloved claymation creations, introduced to the world in his 1989 Oscar-nominated short A Grand Day Out, return for their first outing since the 2008 short A Matter of Loaf and Death and only their second-ever feature-length film, following 2005’s Oscar-winning The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
The new feature, punningly titled Wallace & Gromit: Vengence Most Fowl, is a direct sequel to Park’s 1993 short The Wrong Trousers, which introduced the dastardly diamond-stealing penguin Feathers McGraw, a master thief and a master of disguise (he pulls a rubber glove over his head and pretends to be a chicken, fooling everyone but the sharp-eyed Gromit). Co-directed with Merlin Crossingham, who worked as an animator on Were-Rabbit, Vengence Most Fowl sees Wallace taking technology dependence a step too far. Iconic Aardman characters Wallace and Gromit are back for feature length special Vengeance Most Fowl, here’s the trailer.
It’s a commonly held view among both animation aficionados and film fans in general that The Wrong Trousers is one of the best animated films ever made. 30 perfect minutes crammed with character, jokes and the most well directed train chase sequence every committed to film, it won a BAFTA and an Academy Award.
It’s perhaps no surprise then that for their big return to the small screen, Wallace and Gromit will face off against their iconic foe, Feathers McGraw once more in Vengeance Most Fowl.
The new film will be bigger in scope than its previous four short films – A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave and A Matter of Loaf and Death – and will in fact be a feature film closer in length to their...

Wallace and Gromit are finally back.
The stop-motion franchise returns early next year on Netflix with its first feature in 19 years, “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.” And this time, the titular inventor and his dog are taking on AI.
Per the synopsis, Gromit is concerned that Wallace (Ben Whitehead) is becoming too dependent on his inventions, especially after Wallace invents “smart” gnome Norbot (Reece Shearsmith), who seems to develop a mind of its own.

Dog lovers, cheese enthusiasts, and claymation fans, rejoice! For decades, Aardman Animations has delivered some of the funniest, most visually dazzling movies and short films, including those centered on its signature characters, "Wallace & Gromit." Over the years, the lovable British pair have taken on uncontrollable robotic trousers, rival dogs, and even the laws of gravity itself as they rocketed to the moon and back. And that's not even mentioning their battle with the most fearsome villain to ever grace the silver screen, the dastardly Feathers McGraw. Almost 20 years after the last movie, "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit," hit theaters, the studio is finally ready to unleash the next long-awaited chapter of this franchise, featuring the return of the penguin we love to hate.

Earlier this year, it was finally confirmed that a new Wallace & Gromit movie from Aardman Animations is set to arrive on the BBC (in the UK) and Netflix (worldwide) in time for the holidays. Today, it's been confirmed that it will arrive at the start of 2025 on January 3.
Regardless, with a 70-minute runtime, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will be the first feature-length adventure for these two icons since 2005's The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2008's A Matter of Loaf and Death clocked in at less than 30 minutes).
As we first reported on Toonado.com, a new trailer for the movie has been released highlighting the long-awaited return of iconic villain Feathers McGraw. The twisted penguin debuted in 1993's Oscar-winning The Wrong Trousers and, if what we see here is any indication, he's out for revenge!

Wallace and Gromit are back — and they’re not alone.
The absentminded inventor and his loyal dog sidekick first debuted in 1989’s Oscar-nominated short “A Grand Day Out.” Their adventures would continue in a series of short films and a feature-length movie, “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” (which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature). Now, they are back with a new animated movie, “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.”
You can check out the brand-new first trailer, below, before the movie premieres Jan. 3, 2025, on Netflix.
In this new movie, Wallace (now voiced by Ben Whitehead) is testing out a new “smart gnome” that soon has a mind of its own. Meanwhile, Gromit starts to suspect that a villain from the duo’s past could be responsible — none other than Feathers McGraw, the diamond thief penguin from the Oscar-winning short, “The Wrong Trousers.” That’s right.

While Aardman creations Wallace and Gromit have seen their universe expanded with Shaun the Sheep films and even videogames, they haven’t been prominent in a proper feature film since 2005’s The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Sometimes you ever know what the best-reviewed films of the year will be. And right now, one of them is The Wild Robot, the rare original film that DreamWorks was able to shimmy in between their Trolls, Kung Fu Panda and Shrek movies. But, taking a cue from these franchises, the studio has greenlit a sequel even though The Wild Robot has only been out for two weeks.
Now, The Wild Robot has already crossed $110 million worldwide, with the bulk coming domestically. With that, we shouldn’t be surprised that a sequel for The Wild Robot is moving forward. This was all confirmed by director Chris Sanders, who said, “100% yes there are absolutely plans for a second one.” Details are obviously vague or nonexistent at this point but that’s still encouraging.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl executive producer Carla Shelley is promising an emotional comeback for Aardman’s stop motion heroes as they return this winter in feature film format for the first time in nearly 20 years.
“I think we’re going to make everybody cry. We’re going to surprise everybody and make you laugh as well. It’s really emotional. That’s what’s at the heart of it,” Shelley told Deadline’s Contenders London event on Saturday.
She was joined on stage by co-directors Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham, who revealed they had completed post-production the day before.

In the 23 years since the Best Animated Feature category was introduced at the Oscars, Pixar has dominated, racking up an impressive 11 wins from 18 nominations; its last victory was in 2021 for “Soul.” Walt Disney Studios has four trophies to show for its lucky 13 nominations while DreamWorks has gone 2 for 14, including the first-ever Oscar awarded for Best Animated Feature, which went to “Shrek.” Studio Ghibli also has a pair of prizes, and is the reigning champ with “The Boy and the Heron.” (Scroll down for the most up-to-date 2025 Oscar predictions for Best Animated Feature.)
That marked the second win for Japanese auteur Hayao Miyazaki, who had prevailed for “Spirited Away” 22 years earlier. Miyazaki crafted the only two hand-drawn movies to win this race. Two stop-motion flicks — “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” and “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio” — have prevailed. The other 19 winners were all done with CGI.

In its nearly 30 years of existence, DreamWorks Animation has had a remarkable trajectory marked primarily by the bulk of franchises it created, as much as through the quality of the films themselves. Consider that one of its chief competitors, Pixar Animation Studios, started making feature-length computer-animated films in 1995 and has made just 28 features in the intervening 30 years. DreamWorks? Well, it's made 49 features in just over 25 years. Some of these films are best left forgotten or have only been rediscovered over time courtesy of oddball memes (see: "Bee Movie"). But DreamWorks Animation, amidst the Trolls and boss babies, the chatty penguins of Madagascar, and silent horses who embody the spirit of the Cimarron, has made 10 genuinely solid movies. And with the arrival in late September of DreamWorks' "The Wild Robot," there's no better time than right now to rank those 10 films and see if the studio's latest title makes the grade.

We’re fully in the fall now, which means a few things for movie fans — summer blockbuster season is behind us (which means some of the biggest hits are about to hit home video), spooky season is very much here and, with festival season underway, awards contenders are starting to roll out in earnest.
All told, there’s a lot to watch out for on streaming right now, so if you’re stuck on endless scroll and not sure what to watch right now, not to worry, here’s a curated list of the best new movies on Netflix in September 2024.

Aardman’s “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” the upcoming stop-motion animated feature that will debut on Netflix this winter, set its world premiere for the AFI Fest in Los Angeles. The film will screen Oct. 27, the closing day of the festival, at the historic Tcl Chinese Theatre. In the words of Wallace: cracking!
In “Vengeance Most Fowl,” the first feature-length Wallace and Gromit outing in almost 20 years, inventor Wallace (now voiced by Ben Whitehead) and his silent dog Gromit are dealing with a “smart gnome” with a mind of its own that Wallace has invented, voiced by Reece Shearsmith. But masterminding the chaos is none other than Feathers McGraw, the immortal antagonist from the Oscar-winning short “The Wrong Trousers” from 1993. It will fall to Gromit to untangle the conspiracy and save his master.
“We are delighted that our film will have its world premiere at AFI Fest in L.

A big-screen adaptation of Scott Westerfeld’s dystopian sci-fi novel Uglies; Emily in Paris becoming Emily in Rome; Jeremy Saulnier’s latest genre piece; the latest installment of Ryan Murphy’s grisly crime anthology series; Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen and Natasha Lyonne playing sisters in a critically acclaimed family drama; and rom-com series toplined by the charming coupling of Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are some of the highlights among the new films and series hitting Netflix in September.
Buzzy filmmaker Jeremy Saulnier releases his latest feature, Rebel Ridge, on Netflix on Sept. 6. The action film stars up-and-coming Brit actor Aaron Pierre as a man who comes to a small town to bail out his cousin, but has his money seized by a corrupt local police force led by Chief Sandy Burnne (Don Johnson). Sometimes, trying to find movies that work for the whole family is difficult. They’re either too graphic or scary for the younger members of the family, or they’re too kiddy-ish for the teenagers. Netflix is bringing some great family movies throughout September 2024, though.
There is a mixture of animated and live action throughout the month. There are older and newer movies to check out, so there’s no need for kids to say “we’ve already watched this one” to get out of family movie night.
Here are the top picks of family movies throughout September 2024. And yes, some of the releases have happened today, Sunday, Sept. 1!
Sonic the Hedgehog
Yes, we start with the 2020 movie Sonic the Hedgehog. This is one that we weren’t sure what to think of going into it. Maybe having lower expectations helped it succeed so much.

Whether it’s a rocket that blasts to a moon made or cheese, or a pair of robotic (wrong) trousers, Wallace simply can’t stop inventing things – often to his own detriment. And that looks set to be the case once again in Aardman’s next Wallace & Gromit outing. Incoming feature film Vengeance Most Fowl is due to hit the BBC and Netflix before the end of 2024 – and while we know it’ll feature the return of the only and only nefarious penguin Feathers McGraw, it also revolves around a fresh Wallace contraption: meet the ‘Smart Gnome’.
A freshly-unveiled clip from the new film sees Wallace introduce his latest gizmo to Gromit – cheery garden helper 'Norbot'. No prizes for guessing that the smart gnome will likely end up spiralling out of Wallace’s control. The character is voiced by none other than Reece Shearsmith, joining the already-announced likes of Peter Kay,...

Netflix released a teaser clip introducing Norbot, the “smart gnome” from Aardman’s stop-motion feature “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” directed by franchise creator Nick Park and creative director Merlin Crossingham (premiering on the streamer this winter).
Norbot (Reece Shearsmith) marks the greatest invention yet from the eccentric, cheese-loving Wallace (Ben Whitehead). It’s designed to do any kind of gardening task (or “gnome improvement”), much to the chagrin of Wallace’s canine companion, Gromit, who’s concerned that his pal has become too dependent on his inventions.
The pre-programmed Norbot is a quick learner, efficient, polite, and cheerful, and it quickly becomes popular with the locals to help with their gardening needs. That is until Norbot seemingly develops a mind of its own and runs amok. It’s up to Gromit to stop the AI nightmare and save his friend.

Aardman’s Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham debuted first footage of new Wallace & Gromit character, smart gnome Norbot, during a Next on Netflix showcase at the Annecy International Film Festival on Wednesday.
The co-directors took time away from production at the Aardman studio in Bristol of Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl to give an update on the movie to animation professionals and students at the French lakeside festival.
The existence of a smart gnome character at the heart of the storyline was revealed some time ago, but it is the first time he has been shown to an audience on the big screen.
“Wallace and Gromit’s world has really got to a point where Wallace is just on a big inventing spree, and he decides that what Gromit really needs is another new invention, as if he didn’t already have enough inventions already, and he invents Norbot,...

Check out the super cute trailer below and see the movie in theaters September 27.

There's been chatter for a while now about plans for a new Wallace & Gromit movie and Aardman Animations has confirmed Vengeance Most Fowl is coming to the BBC in the UK this Christmas.
Don't worry, though, because - as we first reported on Toonado.com - it will debut on Netflix worldwide around the same time.
With a 70-minute runtime, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will be the first feature-length adventure for these two since 2005's The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2008's A Matter of Loaf and Death clocked in at less than 30 minutes).
The biggest news, however, is the fact this movie will feature the return of iconic villain, Feathers McGraw. The twisted penguin debuted in 1993's Oscar-winning The Wrong Trousers and, if that title is any indication, he's eager for revenge!

Claymation legends Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham will offer stop-motion fans a sneak peek at their upcoming Wallace & Gromit film at this year’s Annecy animation festival.

Aardman co-founder Peter Lord has revealed details about the plot of the new Wallace And Gromit film, which will be broadcast at Christmas 2024.
There are few franchises as universally beloved as Wallace And Gromit. What began as Nick Park’s student film project grew into two of Britain’s most iconic animated characters.
So far, the titular heroes have starred in four short films – A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers – which won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 1994 and features arguably the best train chase sequence ever put on screen – A Close Shave and A Matter Of Loaf And Death. There’s also the 2005 feature film The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, a series of even shorter films called Cracking Contraptions and a videogame, Wallace And Gromit: Project Zoo.
A new film has been in the works for a number of years, owing to the arduous production process of stop motion animation.

Studio Ghibli, like Western counterparts Disney, Pixar and the UK’s Aardman, is one of the most important animation studios in movie history. Since its first feature film, “Castle in the Sky” in 1986, Studio Ghibli has delivered two dozen thought-provoking tales beautifully rendered in a unique brand of animation. To date, its output has racked up have a lucky seven Oscar bids for Best Animated Feature.
“Spirited Away” was the first Studio Ghibli movie to break into the Academy Awards conversation and did so with aplomb in 2003. It won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature (Miyazaki the recipient) over “Ice Age,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron,” and “Treasure Planet.”
In 2006, Miyazaki was again nominated — this time for “Howl’s Moving Castle” alongside “Corpse Bride” and “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit,” with the latter movie, an Aardman creation, reigning victorious.

“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” has everything you could ask for from an animated Oscar contender, including sterling reviews, stellar box office and a proven awards track record. There’s one potential hitch, though: it’s a sequel. In the history of Best Animated Feature at the Oscars, only two sequels have ever won, and they were both from the “Toy Story” franchise: “Toy Story 3” (2010) and “Toy Story 4” (2019). A New Year means lots of removals from Netflix and January 1st is looking busy, with over 100 movies set to leave the service already. Below, we’ll be keeping track of all the Netflix departures for the first month of 2024.
First, a few housekeeping notes as to how Netflix removals work before we dive in. Due to licensing agreements, shows and movies added to Netflix aren’t added forever. Instead, they’re essentially rented for a fixed period. All the shows below have their current window on Netflix ending and will likely be bound for a rival streaming service.
We list titles slightly differently from other outlets, with our listings being the actual day of removal. If you want to watch any titles scheduled to expire on January 1st, for example, you’ll need to watch by the end of December 31st.

It would be understandable, as much as easy to forgive, were one to have allowed the existence of 2000’s “Chicken Run” to slip from that mental space reserved for cinema’s finest animated offerings; indeed, despite co-director Nick Park (having shared the credit with Peter Lord) helming franchise successes “Wallace & Gromit” and spinoff “Shaun the Sheep,” “Chicken Run” has, for the past 23 years, remained a somewhat unique, solitary hit in the world of stop-motion animation, still the highest-grossing stop-motion film and a critically acclaimed classic begging for a follow-up.

And you thought the poultry in Chicken Run was in trouble! Following word that Aardman Animations – the studio behind Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit and more – was in serious trouble after reportedly running out of clay from its supplier, the famed studio has come forward with news that they will be able to press forward much longer than expected.
In a statement issued on social media, Aardman Animations wrote, “We are touched about recent concern over the future of our beloved clay creations, but wanted to reassure fans that there is absolutely no need to worry. We have high levels of existing stocks of modelling clay to service current and future productions and, much like Wallace in his workshop, we have been tinkering away behind the scenes for quite some time with plans in place to ensure a smooth transition to new stocks to continue to make our iconic productions.

Aardman has sought to reassure a traumatised populace after rumour spreads that their only clay supplier has shut up shop.
Where would we be as a nation without Aardman? Ever since A Grand Day Out shot a thumby, pun-filled rocket into our hearts in 1989, the stop-motion studio has remained as integral to the British psyche as Branston Pickle on a Wensleydale paving slab.
For a few terrifying hours this morning, however, the public were forced to imagine a country without our brightest stars when The Telegraph claimed the studio’s only clay supplier had shut up shop.
The consequences of such a disaster are hardly worth contemplating. Families huddled around a TV playing nothing but computer-animated static. A thousand Wallace And Gromit alarm clocks falling silent all at once. Legions of dust-stained workers glumly treading to the clay pits, desperately digging for the moldable gold they knew they would never again be able to find.
