The car is priced at Rupees 1.25 to 1.50 crore, according to various automobile sites. The announcement of the gift was made via the social media handles of Sun Pictures. The production house also released a video of Rajini receiving the car keys from Kalanithi Maran, the founder and chairman of Sun Pictures. In the video, Rajini and Kalanithi are seen walking towards two parked cars including the X7, while the title track from Jailer plays in the background. The short video also shows him trying out the two cars, before the keys to the X7 are presented to him by Kalanithi. According to the post by Sun Pictures, the Superstar was shown a selection of several cars and he chose the X7. #JailerSuccessCelebrations continue!

Review‘Jailer’ is like an ostentatious ode to the many shifts Rajinikanth’s career has seen, and it works out perfectly.Leave logic at home, go for the Rajinism. Director Nelson Dileepkumar and the Superstar offer a film that may have gaping plot holes, but you wouldn’t really care. Jailer is an undiluted adrenaline rush for the diehard Rajini fan. The star brings his trademark larger-than-life mannerisms into Nelson’s quirky storytelling: a combination that works like a perfect charm. The film opens with an idol smuggling ring that Muthuvel Pandian’s (Rajini) son Arjun (Vasanth Ravi), a dedicated cop, is trying to bring down until tragedy strikes. Rajini’s clash with the smuggling ring builds up to a heist thriller reminiscent of Nelson’s Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Doctor (2021), only Jailer manages to top it. The villains, with Malayalam actor Vinayakan in the lead, swing between cartoonishly ridiculous to manically bloodthirsty.

Chennai, Aug 10 (Ians) Tamil megastar Rajinikanth’s latest movie, ‘Jailer’ is emerging as a blockbuster as fans are elated with his performance as well as the young director Nelson Dileepkumar. The movie produced by Kalanidhi Maran under the banner of Sun films is being screened in 900 theaters across Tamil Nadu.

R. Pradeep Kumar, a software engineer from Kerala settled in Chennai, while speaking to Ians said: “Rajani is marvelous and so is Mohanlal, the Malayalam super star who is playing a cameo in the movie. Can’t describe about the making of the movie and Nelson has proved once again that he is an indispensable presence in Tamil film world.”

The movie has a huge pre-review and fans were even conducting ‘moun vrat’ (vow of silence) at certain pockets of Tamil Nadu including Madurai and Tiruchi for the success of the movie.

In the United States, where the film will have its worldwide premiere, pre-release bookings have reportedly crossed the half-million mark, raking in 664,000 Usd (over Rs 5 crore). The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has pulled such impressive numbers as of August 8 – two days ahead of release. This reportedly breaks the 2023 US record for a Tamil movie, with Jailer soaring ahead of Ponniyin Selvan 2. Film trackers such as Ramesh Bala have also pointed out that the US advance bookings have broken Nelson’s previous record in the country for Vijay’s Beast (2022). Beast had previously brought in 658,000 Usd by the date of its premiere in the US. In Singapore, Jailer is trending among the top ten films, alongside Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

The song’s music has been arranged and produced by Prashanth Techno and Srinivas. The video of the song is about how a child’s dream to paint is discouraged by adults but later sees her artwork painted on a wall. This video has been shot by Nippon Paint India.
