• Ingmar Bergman - Interviewee : The great, most significant achievement in cinematography, is that cinematography has conquered the human face - the moving picture of the human face. The apparatus, the instrument, the camera and the film, they are so sensitive that the smallest movement, even if I'm sitting here and the actors are over there, and I see them acting there and the camera's here, and I'm satisfied: "That was fine!" - But when I see the rushes, I can see that the camera has seen much more than I've seen.
