In the book fair scene, two elderly ladies ask Mr. Corcuera to sign a book for their niece "Elenita Santonja". As soon as this name is pronounced, a young woman with short black hair wearing sunglasses and a white blouse steps in, along with a young man, and asks for books about Bergman or Antonioni. This young woman is played by Elena Santonja.

During the book fair scene a young woman inquires about books about Ingmar Bergman and Michaelangelo Antonioni. Coincidentally, Bergman and Antonioni passed away on the same day, July 30, 2007, 44 years after the film's release.
The role for the character José Luis Rodríguez was firstly planned for José Luis López Vázquez, but when the film became an Italian-Spanish co-production that role was given to Italian actor Nino Manfredi.
