"Beaver Valley" is one of Disney's first True Life Adventure films, though unlike many, this one is not feature-length but a half hour short. It's set in the American Midwest-West and features not just beavers but many meadow creatures, including: moose, black bear, owls, herons, frogs and many others.
Like most of these films, this is very enjoyable but also a bit dated for several reasons. The cinematography was jaw-dropping for 1950 but today with the proliferation of so many nature films, it's less spectacular when seen 70 years later. Mind you...it's still quite good. But what isn't so great, at times, is the print. Some portions of this film I found on Disney+ is a bit faded and a few of the shots are a bit blurry. What also is a bit dated is the narration and music...typical of the era but today it would be seen as a bit in appropriate for a nature film. This is mostly because the narration tries too hard to be cute and funny....while today's nature films are generally more educational and business like. However, generally none of this is a serious problem and overall the film is still well worth your time...especially since beavers are so gosh darned cute!
