- Choi Mi-Yeon, known by her stage name 'Miyeon', is a South Korean singer and actress. Under Cube Entertainment, she is the vocalist of the South Korean girl group (G)I-dle and voiced Ahri in the virtual K-pop girl group K/DA. She appears in the November 2021 song "Kitty" by rapper Kid Milli. In April of 2022, she released her own EP titled 'My'.
Miyeon's passion for music was influenced by her father, who enjoyed music, and listened to various genres of music from a young age. When she became familiar with recording software, she recorded herself singing and showed it to her family and friends. As a result, her family sent her to music academy, where she learned how to play the violin, the guitar and the piano. They also gave her an iPod as a birthday present that included all the songs she liked.
During middle school, a friend urged her to audition at YG Entertainment. She auditioned and became a trainee at YG Entertainment. Miyeon trained at YG for 5 years, and chose to leave the company in early 2015. According to Miyeon, life outside the company was difficult for her since she spent all of her childhood as a trainee, so she went on a vacation to Japan and took some time to look back on herself. Later, she attended a vocal academy and took MIDI classes and became interested in music composition and production. During time at the vocal academy, she received a recommendation to audition for Cube Entertainment. Although she only had a short time to prepare for the audition and felt nervous, she passed the audition and was added to (G)I-DLE debut line up as the main vocalist. She was happy because she could now sing and dance as she had in the past. Miyeon trained really hard with (G)I-DLE members and made her debut with the girl group in 2018.- IMDb Mini Biography By: g-idle fandom
