Born in Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, Gabriel Vilandré wrote and directed the short film Le danseur which earned him the prize for Best Director and Best Film at the 2016 Fantasia Festival, in addition to being selected in the Tourner à tout prix category at the REGARD - Saguenay International Short Film Festival. The following summer, he received the Special Jury Prize at the 2017 Fantasia Festival with La petite soeur.
Le cowboy du mont Laurier was selected at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival and several other festivals all around the world.
His last two short films, Le chapon and Le déménagement, were respectively selected for the premiere at FNC 2018 and the winner of Tourner à Tout Prix at REGARD 2019.
