Courtney Silveira-Freeman
- Actress
Growing up in Manchester, New Hampshire, Courtney was an only child raised by a single mother. From first grade to her senior year in high school, there was never a dull moment as Courtney was greatly involved in her community performing in plays, musicals, volunteering and sports. She is a big advocate for diversity and equality and credits her biracial background, as well as the strong role model provided by her mother, for having a love for all and passion for humanity.
At the age of four, Courtney knew she wanted to be an actress, and it was at that age when she decided that she would attempt to be so great acting that Whoopi Goldberg, her "idol" would ask Courtney to be in a movie alongside her. In the mind of a four year old that dream to act alongside Whoopi one day, only helped push and motivate Courtney with every play, performance role she had. At the age of thirteen she had the opportunity of a life time of actually meeting Whoopi, and she boldly asked Whoopi to be her mentor in acting. From the moment Whoopi uttered the words "absolutely," she helped young Courtney in her journey through the acting world in many ways, supporting Courtney's goals as she got older, including helping her prepare and transition from New Hampshire to New York City when Courtney was accepted into the American Music and Dramatic Academy (AMDA).
Learning from a number of highly accomplished professionals at AMDA, including Andrea Masters, Joe Goscinski and Christian Fletcher, Courtney was afforded great opportunities helping her to develop many skill sets. Most recently training with the experienced Steven Ridel from Westchester Community College (WCC) where she graduated with high honors. After having the opportunity to observe the acting styles of several talented actors on set, including Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Maya Rudolph and many more, Courtney developed a stronger passion for acting in front of the camera and slowly started the transition from the stage to being on a set.
Courtney's acting style is versatile to say the least, but she is best known for her deep, dramatic and emotional and roles.
Courtney's goal is to be on the next Emmy Award winning series on prime time TV. In addition she would like to work with Whoopi Goldberg, as well as with Tatiana Maslany and Robert Dinero. Courtney is always working hard and is quickly making new strides while attempting to make a difference and connect with her audience on a deeper level in every character she takes on.
