Diona Elise Burnett (Prounounced: Dee-yawn-uh) was born November, 26 in Monterey, California.In high school she was very shy and soft spoken. But thanks to the encouragement from her parents, they convinced her to declare theatre as her major, knowing performing would be something she would enjoy. She received her B.A. in theatre from California State University Sacramento and went on to become a finalist in the Kennedy Center for The American College Theatre Festival. Becoming a finalist got her a full ride scholarship to study with the Steppenwolf Theater company in Toronto, and she received an Associates Degree form the New York Conservatory.
Upon moving to Los Angeles, Diona quickly booked her first SAG project, 'Dead.Gay.Fictional' directed by BET 'Twenties' director, Tiffany Johnson. Shortly after, she booked her first co-star role in Apartment Detectives as "Amanda".
Diona is now making her debut in Michelle Obama's new Netflix series with Higher Ground Productions, Waffles and Mochi. Diona puppeteers and provides the voices for the beloved characters Steve the Mop and Magicart.
