Cydney Davis is an actress, singer, songwriter and vocal coach. She has sung background for artists such as Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Barry White, Joe Cocker, Donna Summer, Stevie Wonder and Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. to name a few. She co-wrote the song "You're Gonna Love It" which was recorded by Motown diva Diana Ross in 1990 and has songs placed in film and theater such as "T.O.O G.O.O.D." for the film "Heaven is a Playground", "Listening for Your Love" in the film "Black Magic Woman" and "Meet Me At The Dunbar" for the stage play "The Magnificent Dunbar Hotel" directed by Ben Guillory of The Robey Theatre Company. Her film credits include Jean Claude LaMarre's "Basketball Girlfriend", "Assistant Motives", "Chocolate City" and "Chocolate City 2" reprising her role as "Sister Beatrice." She teaches voice at the Cydney Wayne Davis Vocal Arts Studio in Inglewood California and her students include members of the cast of Disney's "Lion King", r&b vocal trio JADE, jazz artist Norman Brown and members of Kool and the Gang. She is the 2013 winner of the NAACP's Theatre Award for "Best Supporting Actress" for her role as "Theresa" in The Robey Theater's production of "Anna Lucasta".
