- Sami Grisafe's uncle bet her $20 she wouldn't survive Hell Week for Varsity Football. Since then, she became the first female in California to play Quarterback in a men's Varsity DI high school football game, captained Team USA to 3 World Championships, and was named World MVP twice. She's been writing her own rules ever since.
Sami's love of watching her parents perform made her as passionate to take the stage as she was to take the field. Sami was awarded Chicago Music Awards Rock Entertainer of the Year for her electrifying live performances. She performed an acoustic version of her original song, "Key of Us" on Showtime's Original Series Work in Progress. Sami co-wrote the soundtrack to the film, Open Field, with Eren Cannata (Demi Lovato) and KOIL (Timbaland). Music videos, "Manifest" and "Trophies," were shot at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Stadium.
Now, Sami's roots as a trailblazing female athlete and dynamic performer have merged. The award-winning documentary film, Open Field, premiered at the Austin Film Festival - a behind the scenes story of Sami's football career and the obstacles facing female football players. The film garnered Best Documentary, Jury and Audience Awards at festivals and broadcast on the NFL Network for the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. Sami has been featured in film festival panels, SASW, and keynotes/performances (Cusp Conference, AdWeek).
Sami Grisafe takes the high-stakes adrenaline from her experience on the field onto the stage and in front of the camera with every performance.
