Farhoud is a law school dropout turned filmmaker and entrepreneur focused on storytelling that inspires behavioral change. He is the founder of Ritual Arts and, over the past fourteen years, has collaborated on a variety of award-winning projects at the forefront of social impact and brand purpose.
Most recently, he directed and executive produced Earthbound, a documentary profiling the life and achievements of Nzambi Matee, a charismatic Kenyan innovator determined to combat the plastic waste crisis in her hometown of Nairobi. He has also executive produced, and directed several episodes of My Last Days, a documentary series about extraordinary people living with terminal illness yet thriving through their experience. The show has amassed over 100 million views and is in its fifth season on The CW Network. Subjects from My Last Days have inspired two feature films, Five Feet of Apart (CBS FIlms) and Clouds (Disney+).
Farhoud has developed and directed branded entertainment campaigns for companies such as Lexus, Subaru, and Quicken Loan etc, helping brand partners shift towards a more purpose-driven approach. He serves as a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Directors Guild of America, and teaches an upper-division business course on storytelling for social impact at Loyola Marymount University. At his core, Farhoud believes in the power of art to help heal the political and social divide of the present day.
