Born into a family of performers, Sturla began
performing at family reunions at age five by singing and dancing.
Sturla began acting in sketches and short films in elementary school
but his big break came in 2010 when director and writer Guðni Líndal
casted him into his short film "Listinn". Sturla got the role of
Garðar, the best friend of the main character. The short film was a hit
and Sturla was frequently casted in films in Iceland after that. He
decided to take a break from film acting in 2012 to study stage acting.
In early 2013 Sturla got a huge role in the stage version of "Four
Weddings and a Funeral". The play was a big hit. Sturla has shown no
interest in joining film acting again in near future but has been
acting in comedy sketches online. Sturla continues to focus on stage
acting. Sturla lives in Garðabær in Iceland with his dog Drussi.
