Maria Roach, formerly Maria Bland, grew up in Columbia, MD. At the age of 12, she began what would be her lifelong passion -- creating engaging broadcast TV content. Alongside her twin sister, the late Janet Bland Figueroa, they created a weekly TV show called "Graffiti," produced by teens for teens.
A graduate of Hampton University, Maria relocated to NYC working for CBS Sports. There she covered March Madness, MLB, the U.S. Open, a Winter Olympics, and the NFL. She left CBS Sports to work for "Street Stories with Ed Bradley" at CBS News. The rewarding experience allowed her to move to Dateline NBC to produce investigative reports. She spent three years reporting on the disappearance of child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey.
Most recently, Maria under her own shingle Roach Media LLC has produced for the following: The Oprah Winfrey Show, the U.S. Dept. of State, NASA TV, BET News, PBS, Visit Orlando, PUSH Agency, and Darden Restaurants Inc. Storytelling is her passion!
