It has been a Mississippi minute since viewers of the Katori Hill-created P-Valley have enjoyed the Starz drama gracing their TV screens on a Sunday night at 10.
With the show's last episode of P-Valley Season 2 airing on August 14, 2022, its absence has left a big hole in the hearts of committed viewers.
P-Valley's time away from the silver screen is thanks to a lawsuit claiming that P-Valley's premise was taken from another creative in the industry, in addition to the WGA and SAG strikes.
Since so much time has passed, a refresher on how Season 2 ended is a great way to gear up for the Season 3 shenanigans of the workers and regulars at The Pynk -- a strip and dance club in the Mississippi delta.

Prime Video's "Harlem" is back for season two, following the latest misadventures of our favorite core four: Camille (Meagan Good), Quinn (Grace Byers), Angie (Shoniqua Shandai), and Tye (Jerrie Johnson). The dramedy's second season, which premiered on Feb. 3, picks right back up where the season one finale left off with Camille and Ian's (Tyler Lepley) epic reunion as a couple. This season, the show explores more happenings in the girls' careers, love lives, and everything else in between. But viewers are already asking for another season. And quiet as it's kept, so is the cast.
"We done heard some things already," Good tells Popsugar. Even creator Tracy Oliver teased some tidbits about her plans for a third season, which has yet to be green-lit. "We started the season three writer's room this week," she says days before "Harlem"'s return. "Fingers crossed, if it gets picked up, you guys will get to see these ideas.

The need and desire to see Black, Brown, Asian and Indigenous people on screen has yet to be completely fulfilled by Hollywood, but there has been a recent uptick in Aapi and Bipoc representation on screen. According to a 2021 Nielsen study titled “Being Seen on Screen,” data from the 2021 to 2021 television season showed 78 of the top 1,500 shows had some racial, ethnic or sexual orientation diversity.

“P-Valley” has been renewed for a third season consisting of 10 episodes at Starz. The critically acclaimed strip club-set drama is currently the cable network’s biggest show in the U.S.
The sophomore season of “P-Valley” — created and executive produced by Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall — averages nearly 10.3 million viewers across linear, VOD and streaming platforms domestically, the network reported.
“‘P-Valley’ continues to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as it captures the nuances of the Mississippi Delta with an unprecedented level of humanity and artistry,” said Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz, in a statement. “This layered drama gets beyond the glitz through authentic and complex characters that have captured the hearts of critics and audiences alike. We cannot wait to see what Katori has in store for us in season three.”

We're way beyond the days of calling "P-Valley" a TV series just about strippers. Katori Hall's acclaimed Starz drama reached breakout success after its first season aired in the summer of 2020, largely because it created a raw yet empowering space for strip-club culture to be seen in a way that's rarely displayed on television. But the show accomplished so much more than that in season two.
"P-Valley" took braver steps with its second installment to depict issues far too complex to be contained inside a small-town, neon-lit club, aka The Pynk - including poverty, politics, sexual identity, systemic racism, domestic violence, misogyny, and a pandemic. "The second season is crafted better in terms of dramatic construction," Hall tells Popsugar. "That feeling of, 'Oh my God, what's going to happen next?' Being overwhelmed, I think, is very much a part of the feeling of season two."

"P-Valley" finally makes its grand return for season two on June 3. Based on creator Katori Hall's "Pussy Valley" play, the gritty TV adaptation - which stars Brandee Evans, Nicco Annan, Elarica Johnson, Shannon Thornton, J. Alphonse Nicholson, and Tyler Lepley - tells the story of those working at a local "little strip club that could," called the Pynk. Set in the fictional town of Chucalissa, Ms, the Southern sex work drama illustrates the triumphs and struggles of everyone living way down deep in the Mississippi Delta.
"P-Valley" rose to critical acclaim in summer 2020 when it first burst onto the TV scene. A series revolving around a down and dirty strip club in the Mississippi Delta isn’t standard hit TV show fare. But Tony-nominated and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Katori Hall didn’t branch out from the stage to television to play by the rules. When her edgy TV series “P-Valley” debuted on Starz two years ago, circumstances were not ideal. The world was battling Covid plus social protests prompted by the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery were erupting all over the nation. In Season 2, those real-world events figure prominently as the show deftly avoids a sophomore slump and rises to its occasion.
Although ostensibly about mysterious stranger Hailey/Autumn Knight (British actress Elarica Johnson) arriving in the small fictional town of Chucalissa and making ends meet as a stripper, it’s “P-Valley’s” initial surrounding players who catapulted the show to cult status. Nonbinary female-presenting Uncle...

“What’s the New York that I lived in and that I loved? It’s Harlem,” declares creator and showrunner Tracy Oliver about naming her Amazon comedy after the place she loves so dearly. “It just had such a cultural impact for me. The style, the music, the people, everything about it has a rich history. And so when you say you live in Harlem or you’re from Harlem and if you just say the word Harlem in New York, it has like a connotation to it that just gives a lot of people joy,” she explains, adding for our recent Q&a, “and so, I couldn’t think of another word that really captured the essence of the show more than using the city itself.”
We talked with Oliver as part of Gold Derby’s special “Meet the Experts” Q&a event with 2022 Emmy Awards contenders. Watch our exclusive video interview above.

Peacock has shared the first look at its new upcoming comedy series “Killing It,” streaming this April.
Created by “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” producers Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, “Killing It” stars Craig Robinson as Craig, a man who competes in a state-sponsored python hunt in his quest to achieve the American Dream. The series co-stars Stephanie Nogueras as Craig’s ex-wife Camille, Jet Miller as his pre-teen daughter Vanessa and Rell Battle as his younger brother Isaiah. Claudia O’Doherty, Scott Macarthur and Wyatt Walter round out the cast.
“We love all the ambitious, challenging, thematically-rich series that populate the current peak-tv landscape,” said Goor in a statement. “We also love jokes. So, we tried to make a show that could deliver both. We wanted ‘Killing It’ to explore America’s quasi-religious obsession with entrepreneurship and wealth, and we also wanted it to be funny. Really, really funny. Plus, we wanted it to have big snakes.
