Indian filmmakers Rohan Sippy and Nilesh Sahay are joining forces on the holiday action comedy film “Iss Diwali.”

The film, which unfolds during the Diwali festival against a backdrop of political intrigue, is presented by industry veterans Ramesh Sippy and Zaheeda.

Rohan Sippy, known for helming “Nautanki Saala,” “Dum Maaro Dum” and “Bluffmaster,” and serving as showrunner on Netflix noir series “Aranyak,” will collaborate with Sahay, who wrote, produced and directed action film “Squad.” The project is produced by Rohan Sippy, Roopa De Choudhury, Brajesh Sahaya and Sahay via Indian Media Entertainment Network (Imen).

Casting for “Iss Diwali” is currently underway, with announcements expected in the coming months.

Rising Indian star Taha Shah Badussha, known for his breakout role in Netflix’s “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” has signed a three-film deal with Ramesh Sippy Entertainment. The actor played Tajdar Baloch in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s global hit series.

Ramesh Sippy is one of the giants of Indian cinema, best known for “Sholay” (1975), one of the country’s all time hits. His credits as a director also include “Andaz” (1971), “Seeta Aur Geeta” (1972), “Shaan” (1980), “Shakti” (1982), “Saagar” (1985) and television magnum opus “Buniyaad” (1987).

Projects produced under the Ramesh Sippy Entertainment banner include films “Bluffmaster” (2005), “Taxi No. 9 2 11: Nau Do Gyarah” (2006), “Dum Maaro Dum” (2011) and “Nautanki Saala” (2013) and hit Netflix series “Aranyak.”

Badussha’s credits also include ZEE5 Mughal empire saga “Taj: Divided by Blood” (2023), where he played prince Murad, and he has “Paro: The Untold Story of Slavery” coming up.

About how he prepared himself physically and mentally to play the ruthless, clever, and power-hungry prince, he said: “I went through extensive physical as well as mental preparation for ‘Taj- Divided by Blood’. Playing a royal entity entails learning a whole lot of skills physically, from riding a horse to acing weaponry, as well as imbibing the mannerisms and body language of a prince and a warrior at the same time. Actor Taha Shah Badussha talked about his shooting experience with veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah in the upcoming web series ‘Taj-Divided by Blood’.

The web series also features Dharmendra, Aditi Rao Hyadri, Rahul Bose, Aditi Rao Hydari, Zarina Wahab, Sandhya Mridul and Aashim Gulati.

Set in the 16th century, the show is all about Mughal emperor Akbar and the war of transfer of power among his three sons, Salim, Murad, and Daniyal. While Akbar is played by Naseeruddin Shah, Taha Shah is essaying the character of Akbar’s second son, Murad.

He said: “I feel fortunate to be able to share screen space for a pivotal role like Murad with the legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah for ‘Taj-Divided by Blood’. Naseer sir, who played my on-screen father, was an absolute delight to work with off-screens well. It was a learning experience of a lifetime to take tips about the craft while working with him.

The trailer of the upcoming period streaming series ‘Taj – Divided by Blood was unveiled on Friday. As seen in the trailer, the series encapsulates the reign of Emperor Akbar depicting historical figures as humans with ambitions, desires and flaws. Mumbai, March 19 (Ians) "Masaba Masaba" actor Smaran Sahu, who plays a police officer in the new psycho-thriller "Bekaaboo 2", says he felt empowered as soon as he wore the uniform. The actor says he infused this energy to his performance.

"To dive into his shoes, I had to approach it with utmost ruthless honesty. Often onset, the persona of Aakash (his character)had a natural imprint on my own, so much so that the order and prestige that a cop demands was automatically transferred to me as an actor. Mumbai, Jan 23: "Murder 3" fame actress Sara Loren is geared up for her next titled "Barkhaa" being produced under Zahara Productions. In the film, she is paired with "Luv Ka The End" and "Gippi" fame actor Taaha Shah.

Talking about the film, the actress said it is a love story.

"In life, we all fall in love and tend to change thereafter. Some people become good, while some become weird. The best thing about love is that it is effective. Where there is love, there is lot of stir and this story ('Barkhaa') is also like that," Sara told reporters here Wednesday at the launch of the film.

Mumbai, May 3: After his acting debut with Yash Raj Films "Luv Ka The End" in 2011, actor Taaha Shah will now be seen in Dharma Productions' "Gippi". He feels associating with good productions will boost his career.

"After having worked with Yash Raj Productions (Yrf), I am working with Dharma Productions. So, I think it's good for my career to work with good production houses, good co-actors," Taaha said here Thursday in an interview.

"Gippi" is the journey of a teenage girl and Delhi-based Riya Vij plays the lead role in it. Directed by debutant Sonam Nair, it is set to release May 10.
