Eyal Meyer Shevat is a chilean actor, martial artist, radio host and model, born to a family of german and israeli immigrants. He received is acting training at the University of Chile (2007), receiving also a Bachelor of arts degree. His constant search for versatility as an actor has made him train in dancing, singing, physical theatre, voice over, yoga and martial arts, in Chile and abroad.
Since 2006 he has been practicing and specializing in Kalaripayattu, a traditional martial art from South India considered the oldest of all martial arts. It includes attack and defense techniques, the use of wooden weapons such as long stick, short stick, mace, otta kol (wooden sword) and metal weapons as dagger, sword, shield, spear, and urumi (flexible sword). Trained at Hindustan Kalari Sangam and Kalarigram (India), teaches since 2011, being the founder and chief instructor of Mauna Kalari, the first Kalarippayattu center for practice based in Chile (2020).
On screen, he has performed in feature films, shorts, TV series, drama serials and live shows. Since 2018 hosts a radio show in the Chilean dial Fmdos, having experience also in voice over and dubbing. He has also worked shooting commercials and as a model in editorial photoshoots.
On stage, since 2005 he has been performing as an actor in numerous plays, both in theaters and unconventional spaces, street theater, puppet theater, public interventions, performances, contemporary dance and art installations, working also in other projects as creator, performer, choreographer and assistant director.
