Rushi Sharma
- Costume Designer
Rushi, with her creative partner Manoshi, is among India's premier costume designers. They have been working together for close to two decades, and co-founded their company Fool's Paradise in 2007. They began their career with Dibakar Banerjee's films Khosla Ka Ghosla and Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Costume Design for the latter. Across the last several years, they have built a commendable filmography which includes diverse projects - from critically acclaimed films like Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Talaash, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi and Sherni, to mainstream blockbusters like PK, Queen, Dhoom 3, Kick and more. In 2013, they won their second Filmfare Award for Best Costume Design for Dibakar Banjerjee's Shanghai. More recently, they designed costumes for the Vijay Acharya action-adventure film Thugs of Hindostan, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera, and Akshay Kumar's thrillers Bell Bottom and Cuttputtli. Apart from feature and series projects, they also work with leading e-learning platforms in India and Singapore on fashion-based masterclasses and programmes. They have been active proponents of sustainable fashion, and are working on multiple pioneering initiatives towards their circular fashion and sustainability goals. In 2023, they won the ELLE Mindful Design Award at the first edition of the Elle Sustainability Award for their ethical sourcing of materials from small-scale brands and artisans.
