It’s been the question on every fan’s mind since Sierra McClain’s departure was confirmed this summer — how can 9-1-1: Lone Star possibly write out such an integral character in a way that won’t feel completely jarring? (Spoiler alert: It couldn’t.)
The procedural’s fifth and final season premiere on Monday revealed that Grace left home to volunteer with Mercy Ships, a faith-based organization that performs life-saving surgeries all over the world. 911: Lone Star season 5 is on everyone's minds, particularly because it will be the first responder drama's final season. The procedural has a lot to cover as it explains Grace's absence (Sierra McClain left the show ahead of the season), wrestles with Owen's grief over the loss of his brother, deals with a surprise visit from Tk's brother Jonah, pits Marjan and Paul against each other as they vie for lieutenant, and ramps up Carlos' obsession with solving his father's murder.
It's that last storyline that's going to open this world wide since Carlos, having been promoted to a Texas ranger, is getting a new partner. Campbell, played by Parker Young, will make his first appearance in the season 5 premiere. Showrunner Rashad Raisani teased in an interview with TVLine that the two will bump heads at first but that "[t]hey complement each other on cases and they’re going to become great friends.

Anna and Zoe (Sasha Pieterse) are twin sisters, sharing the classic close bond that almost nobody can mess with. "What has Anna told you about her past?" Paramount Movies has revealed an official trailer for a romantic comedy thriller titled The Image of You, from filmmaker Jeff Fisher. Arriving to watch in theaters and on VOD directly this May - from director who mostly works in TV and directs cheesy romantic TV movies. The film is about identical twins Anna and Zoe - both played by Sasha Pieterse. It's based on the book of the same name and that description sums it up nicely: Anna and Zoe are twins. Identical in appearance, utterly different in personality, they share a bond so close that nothing – or no one – can rip them apart. Until Anna meets charismatic Nick. Anna is trusting, romantic & hopeful; she thinks Nick is perfect. Zoe is daring, dangerous & extreme; she thinks Nick is a liar. Zoe has seen Anna betrayed by men before. She'll stop at nothing...

Exclusive: Alyssa Milano (Brazen), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Gina Torres (9-1-1: Lone Star) and Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us) have signed on for roles in the feature-length anthology Give Me an A, which links together 15 short films, in response to the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade.
The film currently in post-production will have been completed within two months from the date of Roe’s overturning — which eliminated the longstanding constitutional right to abortion — in an effort to ensure this is a response and not a delayed reaction. The creators, cast and crew have made a significant effort to expedite the process in order to start a conversation with audiences about the importance of bodily autonomy and address the dysfunction of a democracy that is not protecting the needs of a majority of the population. Last we saw the titular professor-turned-cat cafe owner (Mayim Bialik) in the Call Me Kat Season 2 finale, she was visiting Paris to contemplate what she wants out of love and life. And when she returns to the U.S. in the third season, it sounds like she’ll have a clearer vision of what that is: a man named Brian Anderson, played by Parker Young. Young will first appear in Episode 4, airing October 20, according to TVLine. Apparently, Kat returns “feeling refreshed and ready to ascertain what she wants from life… and whether her future includes a journey to motherhood.” The United States Of Al alum will play the new object of Kat’s affection during her quest to have a baby. The second season finale saw Kat’s previous love interest Max (Cheyenne Jackson) leave Louisville for a music career in Nashville. Bialik has been busy hosting Jeopardy! after previously...

Not even Christopher Robin is safe from a feral Winnie the Pooh in the first trailer for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.
As previously reported, the direct-to-vod slasher flick will see the “tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff” take an extremely dark turn after being abandoned by a college-aged Christopher Robin. Because he and Piglet have had to fend for themselves in Christopher’s absence, “they’ve essentially become feral, so they’ve gone back to their animal roots” and are “no longer tame,” writer/director Rhys Waterfield told our sister pub Variety. “They’re like a vicious...

ABC will not be moving forward with drama pilot Criminal Nature, from Rashad Raisani, 20th Television and A+E Studios.
Criminal Nature was one of two remaining “second cycle” ABC pilots that had not heard about their fates, along with fellow drama The Company You Keep, starring and executive produced by This Is Us alum Milo Ventimiglia. I hear the latter continues to look promising for a series pickup. Like drama pilot Will Trent, which was picked up to series this month. The Company You Keep also had started a writers room in anticipation of a series order. In another encouraging sign, The Company You Keep also has brought on seasoned writer-producer Phil Klemmer as co-showrunner, I hear.

ABC has opted not to pick up the drama pilot “Criminal Nature” to series.
This is now the second time the project has been passed over at the broadcast network. A different iteration of the pilot with a different creative team — which included Kevin Costner as co-writer — was in the works at ABC in 2021 before being axed in July.

TV can be a tricky business — one day you’re preparing for a season finale episode, and the next the episode becomes the series finale when the show gets canceled. That is exactly the case with CBS’ United States of Al, which received the ax from CBS just one week out from its season-ender. The comedy, which premiered in April 2021 as a midseason replacement, centers on combat veteran Riley (Parker Young) and the interpreter he’d befriended in Afghanistan, Awalmir, whom he welcomes into his family’s Ohio home, with much of the humor coming from Al’s bewilderment at the American lifestyle. The series was given a second season, which kicked off last fall with frequent high ratings, but the audience was just not big enough for CBS to warrant a third season. But despite last week’s news, the May 19 finale (now the final episode) is airing as...

It’s the end of the road for the Chuck Lorre-produced United States of Al, as CBS has decided to cancel the comedy series after two seasons. According to Deadline, the eye network made the calls to inform the show’s higher-ups on Wednesday evening. The sophomore sitcom was one of two Lorre-produced comedies on the bubble, alongside B Positive, which has a better chance of renewal in light of Al‘s cancellation. If B Positive is picked up, it will join Lorre’s Young Sheldon and Bob Hearts Abishola on the 2022-23 schedule. United States of Al was created by David Goetsch and Maria Ferrari and revolved around Al (Adhir Kalyan), an interpreter from Afghanistan who moves to Columbus, Ohio, with his friend Riley (Parker Young), a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
