Joe Rogan has issued a statement expressing his regret over his use of the “N-word” in clips circulated by songstress India Arie.
Rogan was depicted using the racial slur two dozen times in the clips, which were used by Arie to illustrate why she was withdrawing her music from Spotify, where Rogan licenses his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.
The controversial podcaster has been under fire since Neil Young asked for his music to be removed from the service to protest Rogan’s content. He was joined by several other musicians and podcasters.
It was reported today that the streaming service ha taken down rougly 70 Rogan podcasts without explanation. Many of the podcasts that were yanked involved other controversial commentators, including Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, Owen Benjamin and Canadian writer Gavin Miles McInnes.

Just as America was despondently staring down a 2022 of school closures, Covid-19 exposures, repeated quarantines, and testing shortages, lo, the universe delivered up a New Year’s miracle: Twitter permanently suspended Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal account. No more can @mtgreenee wantonly tweet that the 2020 election was stolen, that Democrats are plotting a Communist takeover, that Fauci should be fired, or that Covid vaccines have led to large numbers of ignored deaths (the tweet that finally, belatedly, got her deplatformed). No longer can Greene egg on 465,000 followers to behave in...

If Christopher Nolan’s emotional plots don’t strike you, his elaborate design choices will on some level. He’s a guy who decided he needed to build all of Gotham City’s "The Narrows" on a stage, thought to put a ornate hotel hallway on a gimbal, and built a full-scale spaceship with windows displaying actual scenic black hole shots. He’s a crazyman when it comes to realizing his vision, and for that, the Art Directors Guild is praising him this awards season. The Art Directors Guild (Adg) announced late Wednesday that Christopher Nolan will receive the prestigious Cinematic Imagery Award from the at its 19th Annual Art Directors Guild’s Excellence in Production Design Awards. Comedian Owen Benjamin will host the ceremony, set for January 31, 2015. According to the Adg’s, the Cinematic Imagery Award is "given to those whose body of work in the film industry has...

Christopher Nolan will receive the Cinematic Imagery Award at the Adg's 19th annual Art Directors Guild’s Excellence in Production Design Awards. Comedian Owen Benjamin will host the starry black-tie ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 31, 2015. The Cinematic Imagery Award honors a filmmaker whose body of work has enhanced the visuality of moviegoing. Martin Scorsese, Warren Beatty, Clint Eastwood, Norman Jewison, John Lasseter, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are among past honorees. Before he was a blockbuster filmmaker, the British-American Nolan burst onto the indie scene in 1998 with his black-and-white first feature "Following," followed by his brain-boggling sophomore thriller "Memento." And now, well, the rest is history. "Interstellar" has already grossed over $540 million worldwide since opening November 5. The Adg honor should boost the film's award season profile, which has been fairly low-key so far....

Chicago – The hottest comic and comedy show came together at the 2013 TBS “Just for Laughs Chicago” festival in June. Paul F. Tompkins – podcaster and host of VH1’s “Best Week Ever” – had a show, and also at the event were the cast of comedians that make up the TBS sitcom, “Sullivan & Son.”
HollywoodChicago.com interviewed Tompkins and the “Sullivan & Son” cast, as they talked about the comedian’s life and sitcoms in the age of YouTube.
Paul F. Tompkins
The multi-talented Tompkins has conquered most of the comic media – he has hosted “Best Week Ever” on the VH1 network, has had two comedy albums, he’s appeared in the film “Anchorman” and oversees his own “Pod F. Tompkast” podcast. He also currently produces a weekly web series called “Speakeasy,” in which he speaks with entertainers at local Los Angeles bars.

TBS is going 2-for-2 with its new comedy series with a renewal of freshman Sullivan & Son executive produced by Vince Vaughn. As part of its return to half-hour sitcoms, TBS launched two new shows behind its blockbuster off-network performer The Big Bang Theory this year, Men At Work and Sullivan & Son. Both have now been picked up for a second season. Airing Thursdays at 10 Pm, Sullivan & Son, which has received a 10-episode second-season order, is averaging more than 2.5 million viewers. “Sullivan & Son has gotten off to a strong start, quickly building its own fan base,” said TBS’ head of programming Michael Wright. After a solid launch with 2.5 million viewers, Sullivan & Son exceeded expectations in Week 2 when it held onto 100% of its premiere audience. The series stars Steve Byrne as a corporate attorney who finds new life behind the bar when he leaves his Manhattan lifestyle and moves to Pittsburgh to take over his parents’ pub.

Comedian Steve Byrne has been spending quite a bit of time in a not-so-swanky bar in Pittsburgh, Pa on his new TBS show "Sullivan & Son," with Vince Vaughn doing the behind-the-scenes legwork as executive producer.
The pair spoke with HuffPost via phone to discuss their new series, Byrne's difficulty landing roles as a Korean-American and Vaughn's new film "The Watch."
Steve, what's it like playing a character who's loosely based on your life?
Byrne: It's been a lot of fun. The biggest transition for me is going from doing a standup where you can be as outlandish or crazy as you want to such a structured environment. You have to stick to the script!
Most stars don't have much of a say in what their characters are up to, but as one of the writers of "Sullivan & Son," you must have a lot control over it. What's that like? Do you find yourself abusing it?...

Chicago – TBS has been an unusual network over the last couple years, building a lot of comedy success off of repeats of hits like “The Big Bang Theory” and “Family Guy” while also satisfying a loyal audience for comedians like Tyler Perry and his line of sitcoms and Conan O’Brien and his talk show. However, an expected slate of original sitcoms never really surfaced until this year when “Men at Work” was a surprising hit that they hope to build on with tonight’s premiere of “Sullivan & Son,” another old-fashioned laughfest built on cliches but with a confidence that gives it moments that work.

The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh.
