- Jason Raftopoulos is a Greek Australian film director, screenwriter and producer. His film From Dope to Dalai Lama won Best Short Documentary at the Inside Film Awards in 2010. Jason's short film Father's Day would later be adapted into a feature film, West of Sunshine, which had its world premiere at the 74th Venice International Film Festival (Orrizonti) in 2017.
Jason was nominated for the Lion of the Future Award for a Debut Film, and Best Film (Orizzonti). In 2018 Jason won the Jury Grand Prix Award for Best Film for West of Sunshine at the Festival des Antipodes in Saint Tropez, and Best Director at the Barcelona International Film Festival.
He was also nominated for Best Director by the Australian Directors Guild and nominated for Best Independent Film by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts in 2018. In 2023 Jason wrote and directed Voices In Deep, a Greek Australian co-production that premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival. Voices in Deep had its European premiere at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and screened In Competition at SXSW Sydney.
