Joanna Kos-Krauze is a Polish director and screenwriter. She graduated in Polish and Hebrew studies, showing an interest in film early on. She initially worked on TV programs, commercials, and documentaries. Joanna formed one of the most creative duos in Polish cinema with her husband, Krzysztof Krauze. They co-directed several movies, including Mój Nikifor (2004), which became a major festival hit and received awards in Karlovy Vary and other international film festivals. Another notable movie is Plac Zbawiciela (2006), a social drama that received multiple awards. After her husband's death, she continued their work and completed the movie Birds Are Singing in Kigali (2017).
