Tarf Media has acquired worldwide sales rights, excluding North America, for “Lonesome Soldier” and will represent the film at the Cannes Film Market.
The film is directed by Nino Aldi (“Who Killed Copper Dunn?”), stars John Ashton (“Gone Baby Gone”), Allison McAtee (“The Haves and Have Nots”), Steve Monroe (“Promising Young Woman”) and Patrick Y. Malone (“The Tomorrow War”) and introduces actor-writer Alexander Randazzo.
Based on a true story, “Lonesome Soldier” follows the life of Jackson Harlow (Randazzo), from a young dreamer affected by his time in the Iraq war, to his return home and the effects these events have on soldiers and families. It is written by Randazzo and Lionel Chetwynd (“Ike: Countdown to D-Day”), based on the book “Lonesome Soldier – The Long Road Home” by Linda Lee. The film is produced, financed and distributed in the U.S. by Military Movies.

Most of the time, in Lifetime movies, people are either too dumb or too smart. There’s no in-between. Then comes a point when the dumb finally realize their dumbness and a shoddy climax follows. But somehow, these movies always work. There’s a steady audience. Otherwise, why would the network keep making them? We’re talking about their latest, The Wrong Life Coach, here, which follows the same pattern, and it stars Allison McAtee, star of many Lifetime movies, including the very recent A Nurse to Die For, as the “wrong” life coach.

A young woman gets startled by something she has just discovered, right outside of a house that she just trespassed on. Before we find out who this is and what’s the deal here, she is knocked out with a baseball bat by a mysterious person whom...

“People ask me, where are all the great exploitation movies today? The low-budget horror films? They’re on the Lifetime Network!” Shudder’s horror host Joe Bob Briggs once said, and he’s not entirely wrong about that. There’s plenty of entertainment value to be found in Lifetime’s particular brand of thriller, and a new year brings along with it a brand new slate.
Deadline reports on Lifetime’s Quarter 1: 2024 slate of original thrillers this afternoon, which promises fourteen brand new thrillers premiering here in the early months of the year.

When I read the terms “fracking” and “horror” linked together for a movie, I was curious but also unsure of what the hell it would even be. Enter Unearth, a horror flick written by Kelsey Goldberg (Painting Autumn) and John C. Lyons (Schism), who also directs along with Dorata Swies. The story of two Pennsylvania farming families whose relationships with one another become torn by the decision of one of the families to lease their land to a gas and oil conglomerate. The existing ties of these families is frayed with this decision, and as the drilling commences, there’s something underground that unleashes a new type of horror upon these two households.

When hard-pressed farmers do a deal with the energy industry, full-on eco terror ensues, undoing this movie’s careful groundwork
If Hp Lovecraft had joined Extinction Rebellion, this is the kind of idea he might have come up with: a cautionary horror story about fracking, which disguises itself as a 70s ensemble drama before erupting into something altogether ickier. While Terrence Malick loved filming American cornfields at the hallowed “magic hour”, this awkward hybrid prefers loitering at what you might call “morbid hour”, with Korean cinematographer Eun-ah Lee bathing everything in sallow, deathly light. The blight beneath everyone’s feet is creeping into their hearts.
Set in rural Pennsylvania, Unearth is a tale of two houses: the Lomacks and the Dolans. Beer-chugging divorcee dad George Lomack (Marc Blucas) is struggling to provide for his two daughters with a failing auto-mechanic business; dollar signs light up in his eyes when a...

"Make it stop!" Cinedigm already released this film in the spring, but we're just catching up with this trailer for Unearth, an "eco-horror" thriller about farmers and the deadly consequences of allowing fracking. This originally premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival last year, where our writer Zofia gave it a positive review. The bond between two neighboring farm families is put to the test when one of them chooses to lease their land to a gas company with fracking plans. In the midst of this growing tension, the land is drilled and something long-dormant and terrifying is released. Don't mess with nature. "Unearth is about the horrifying repercussions sown by shortsighted decisions, and what our children reap from our actions." The film stars Adrienne Barbeau, P.J. Marshall, Allison McAtee, Rachel McKeon, Monica Wyche, Brooke Sorenson, and Marc Blucas. Yeah this does look incredibly terrifying. Don't frack! Keep that land intact.

Screened as a selection of the virtual 2020 Fantasia Film Festival. When nature is one of the key elements of a film, it usually touches on humanity's relentless power of destruction. This theme is a major part of the newest eco-horror feature, Unearth, co-directed by John C. Lyons and Dorota Swies (Schism), from a script written by Lyons and Kelsey Goldberg. This self-described "fracking horror story" captivates audiences with its intense storytelling and, most importantly, the lessons hidden within. Next to phenomenal directing, its cast, especially Allison McAtee, deliver gratifying performances. Two farm families, the Dolans and the Lomacks, have been neighbors and close friends for quite some time. Both family's daughters grew up together, and now a new member beginning the next generation arrives in the Lomack household. When times start to get tough and every penny counts, the two farming families face a difficult choice. They either firmly stand...

Tagline: "A Fracking Horror Story." Unearth is an ecological survival horror story. Set to show at this year's virtual Fantasia Film Festival, Unearth looks at the dangers of fracking and a looming environmental crisis. This title was developed by John C. Lyons (Schism) and Dorota Swies. And, the cast consists of horror favourite Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog), along with: Brooke Sorenson ("Modern Family"), P.J. Marshall and Rachel McKeon. This title appears at Fantasia in late August, with a preview available here. The movie poster for Unearth shows some of the environmental damage as an icon of Mother Earth suffers above. This graphic hosts skull and bones as trees wither. Very smokey, characters Kathryn (Barbeau) and Christina (Allison McAtee) hover above. All of the film's promotional materials have been intriguing thus far. Unearth will have two appearances at this year's festival. First, the film will show on August 25th, followed by another showing on August 30th.

Heavy metal and horror seem to go hand in hand. Many people who like one, will like the other, so it’s maybe a bit of a surprise that there’s not actually that many movies that link the two. Most recently Deathgasm was ridiculous, loud and fun, the real-life horror story of Lords of Chaos was scarily violent and Devil’s Candy is perhaps the most metal of the three. So We Summon The Darkness has some entertaining company to live up to.
Set in the eighties, a group of three girls meet up with three like-minded guys to enjoy a night of metal, drinking and each others company. But one group have very different ideas to the others about way the night is heading.

A film should never be overly reliant upon a twist. When done right, sudden turns in a plot can spice things up, as we’ve seen countless times in cinema. However, the wrong handling of a twist can really mess up a work. Luckily, despite leaning too heavily upon a twist almost everyone will see coming, We Summon the Darkness manages to be a lot of fun. As much as the movie follows the rules of the horror/thriller genre, it does so with a sense of humor that helps set it apart. While not a comedy, the flick knows how to have a good time, and that goes a long way. Plus, any showcase for the talented Alexandra Daddario is an added bonus. It hits VOD this weekend and is well worth a look. The movie is a tongue in cheek horror/thriller hybrid, starting out as one thing,...

A rash of 1980s-era satanic ritual killings puts Pastor John Henry Butler (Johnny Knoxville) front and center in rural America’s consciousness because his church is doing its very best to combat the disintegration of society with the word of God. Just as his increased television appearances rally the Bible Belt to his cause (treating rock music and other not quite “demonic” practices as sinful weapons destroying their children’s souls), however, they also work to embolden those he is forsaking. More than calling out the as yet unknown murderers for their crimes, he’s pointing fingers at a youth culture that already exists as a response to his mode of fear-mongering and idiotic censorship. So of course they’ll rebel further by running away to embrace their heavy metal lives more.

"Girls - be careful now, there's a lot of evil out there." Saban Films has unveiled a trailer for an indie horror thriller called We Summon the Darkness, described as an 80s "metal mayhem joyride" about a group of friends caught in the middle of a killing spree of murderous Satanists. This originally premiered at Fantastic Fest last fall, and it also played at the Splat! Horror Film Festival in Poland, and Molins Film Festival in Spain. When Val, Beverly, and Alexis meet a group of fun-loving dudes in the parking lot of a heavy metal concert, they all decide to have an after-party, but it isn’t long before the group finds themselves fighting for their lives. This stars Alexandra Daddario, Johnny Knoxville, Keean Johnson, Maddie Hasson, Logan Miller, Amy Forsyth, Allison McAtee, and Tanner Beard. Looks some wild and crazy horror. Life rarely allows anyone to resolve their conflicts without bittersweet consequences, no matter how heroic their actions are in battle.
Cno Captain Tom Chandler is no exception, despite his bravest efforts to protect the world's remaining survivors, from both natural causes and each other.
The Chief of Naval Operations proved yet again what a stunning leader he is throughout The Last Ship Season 3 Episode 13.
During the third season finale of TNT's hit post-apocalyptic series, it was satisfying to watch Tom be the person who finally was able to stop Allison's reign of terror at home in America.
When The Last Ship Season 1 launched in summer 2014, the former Nathan James captain proved he was the world's savior as he fought to help find and spread the cure for the virus.

Watching the destruction of the foundation of one of the most powerful countries in the world is a painful experience for all of its citizens. The process is especially devastating for those who have fought to uphold the traditions that have made their home so respected and cherished.
As courageous leaders take a stance against their surprising new foes, it's thrilling to witness them forge partnerships with equally determined, but also unexpected, allies who hold drastically different morals than they do.
Further building upon the revelations of the leaders' motives and relationships from the past couple of episodes, The Last Ship Season 3 Episode 11 has also proved that the well-intentioned American officials are being manipulated by their counterparts.

Easing the concerns of worried citizens who fear for the security and safety of their country is a high priority for many government officials who wish to stabilize society. So it comes as a complete shock when well-intentioned leaders uncover their boss and colleagues' deceit – their agenda is to cause more civil unrest.
Making a drastic change in the character and story arcs from the previous episodes of this season, the fast-paced turn of events in The Last Ship Season 3 Episode 10 threatened the futures of the White House staff.
While the American leaders stationed in both St. Louis and aboard the Nathan James are still focused on their foreign enemies, notably President Peng, the officials are finally realizing that they can't truly trust each other.
Tom maintained his courage and pride in defending not only himself, but his fellow Nathan James officers, this time against Joseph's unwarranted suspicions. But the...

The untimely death of a seemingly heroic leader like President Michener is a tragedy that was supposed to bring not only the mourners in American together, but all of those who are grieving around the world.
But the news unfortunately proved once again how supposed allies are willing to quickly betray each other in times of despair.
Kara is unsurprisingly the main White House staff member who's having trouble accepting President Michener's death on The Last Ship Season 3 Episode 8. As Tom's aide in the White House, Kara was the person who made the harrowing discovery of the commander-in-chief's suicide.
In the change of power that follows President Michener's death, Kara is horrified that some of his supporters, especially Allison, want to overturn his policies. After the Chief of Staff admits to Kara that she had a personal relationship with him, Allison's bitterness over his suicide leads her to challenge his programs.

2.10 Palindrome
The slow procession of Gerhardt bodies in the opening moments of this final episode acts as a reminder of the high cost that this season has levied on its characters. Although no one really left the series totally unscathed, the routing of the once-powerful local crime family should be regarded as the core tragedy of the narrative. A combination of stupidity and downright bad luck prompted Rye’s demise and the family continued to exhibit both characteristics until they were utterly destroyed. A failure to instigate a clear succession plan caused rifts between Floyd and Dodd, which only exacerbated the problems between Dodd and Bear, which would have been bad enough even without Hanzee acting as a wildcard angel of death.

Way to go, Rayanne! A.J. Langer, 41, is living out her own "Downton Abbey" fairy tale. The actress best known as Rayanne Graff on "My So-Called Life" is now the Countess of Devon and mistress of a 600-year-old, 4,000-acre British estate. We'd call that a so-called awesome life.
