As actor Jai’s intriguing vigilante-action-thriller-legal drama series ‘Label’ continues onward, composer Sam Cs has elaborated on giving music for the venture. A pivotal source of his inspiration was North Chennai.

Talking about the series’ music production, he said: “Thrillers have less dialogue writing compared to other genres which is why music plays a critical role in elevating the whole story to immerse the audience into the world of suspense and thrill.”

He said that while a major chunk of my filmography features thrillers, every story is different and comes with its own challenges.

While Jai is going to be more in the style of Daredevil from Marvel comics as a lawyer and vigilante in the film, ‘Arikki Murikki’ doesn’t reflect that much. Whether you understand the language or not it makes little difference, because the vibe coming from the track is peppy and yet somewhat ominous, making it rather suspense filled.

Denzil Smith, the versatile actor who has appeared in Hollywood films like Tenet and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, is all set to make his Tamil debut with Leo, the upcoming action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role. In an exclusive interview with us, he shared his experience of working in the film and his admiration for Vijay and Lokesh.

“I was shooting for Leo for about three days in Mumbai. It was a pleasure working with Lokesh and Vijay. They are both very talented and humble people. The brothers have been planning on teaming up together for quite some time but unfortunately aren't able to come across a suitable script. Speaking at the audio launch of Kadai kutty Singam, which is being bankrolled by his older brother and actor Suriya under his banner 2D Entertainments, Karthi hinted that he and Suriya will together act in a film very soon. Reports suggest that Suriya may be making a cameo appearance in the film. Revealing another detail about Kadai Kutty Singam, Karthi said that it will be a film on the farmers and their plight in the society now. Karthi will be seen in a full-length rural avatar in Pandiraj-directed Kadai Kutty Singam. In the film, Karthi plays the lead role in the movie with Sayyeshaa and Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female leads. The others in the star cast include Arthana Binu, Sathyaraj, Bhanupriya, Viji Chandrasekhar, Ponvannan, Soori, Sriman and Soundararaja. The Telugu version of the film has been titled Chinna Babu. Kadai Kutty Singam’s technical crew includes D Imman for music, Velraj for cinematography and Ruben for editing. The shooting of this film began in November last year in Chennai and a major portion of it was shot in Thenkasi. Karthi was last seen in cop film Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, which was well received by the fans and the critics at the box office last year. He has joined hands with director Rajath Ravishankar for a mega-budget action film which has been titled Dev, its makers announced via a statement. To be bankrolled by Prince Pictures and Reliance Entertainment, the project was officially announced in March this year. During the filming, the team ran into trouble with the Animal Welfare Board of India as it shot the Rekla Race without the permission of the Board. However, it was later clarified that the scenes were shot at the race held by the Rekla Federation of Tamil Nadu based on the permission granted by the Collector of Pudukottai. But now, it looks like the film will not have its planned release, as the movie has not applied for censor certification yet and might be pushed to release later on January 26. Sketch which has Vikram and Tamannaah essaying the lead roles, is directed by Vaalu fame Vijay Chander. The film is touted to be set in North Chennai and Vikram apparently plays a gangster in the film and Tamannaah plays a college girl. The film also marks her first collaboration with Vikram. The film is based on vehicle trafficking in the interiors of North Chennai. It will portray North Madras in a different colour, highlighting the lifestyle of the elite class living in the area. The film is being bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu under V Creations. The movie has completed its shooting part, and post-production works are going on. The film also has two villains —Rk Suresh and Radharavi while Soori, Sriman, Sri Priyanka, Ravi Kishan, Rk Suresh, Madhumitha, Vishwanth and Vela Ramamoorthy, complete the cast. The festive weekend in January will have five holidays and, hence, filmmakers are keen to release their movies during this time. Surya's Thaana Serntha Kootam has been confirmed for Pongal release and will get maximum screens. The film is directed by Vignesh Sivan and stars Keerthy Suresh, Ramya Krishnan. Prabhu Deva's Gulebagavali, where he is pairing up with Hansika Motwani, Sundar C's Kalakalppu 2 which is a sequel to 2012 hit Kalakalappu and Vijayakanth's son Shanmuga Pandian's Madurai Veeran are also scheduled for the Pongal season. The drop-outs include Vishal's Irumbu Thirai (which will now be releasing on Republic Day), Vimal starrer Mannar Vagaiyara, along with Venkat Prabhu's Party and Billa Pandi, which were planned for the festive weekend.
