Dennis van de Ven is an actor, writer, director, singer and stand-up comedian.
Van de Ven was born in Limburg, The Netherlands as the son of a snack bar holder. He graduated in 1996 as stage director at the Theatre Academy in Maastricht. After that he started a career on stage and on television.
On television he seen in "Kannibalen" (2006) and "De Staat van Verwarring" (2006). After that he started collaborating with his long-time friend Jeroen van Koningsbrugge. They starred in the sketch show Nieuw Dier (2006) together with Sieger Sloot and Erik Whien. They also created, wrote and produced their own satirical sketch shows Draadstaal (2007), Neonletters (2010) and the more serious crime drama Smeris (2014).
Besides television, Dennis and Jeroen are a music and comedy duo called "Jurk". Their song "Zou zo graag" was a huge hit and peaked at number 1 on the Dutch Single Top 100.
